Aða Studio takes its name from the small mussels found along Iceland's shores, reflecting a deep connection to place and the experience of growing up close to the sea. Inspired by the rhythms of the coastline and the quiet beauty of the natural landscape, the studio explores the space between discovery and making, where found materials become lasting objects.
Rooted in the Icelandic landscape, Aða Studio follows a natural instinct to search — turning over stones, following the tide, and noticing details that might otherwise go unseen. Each walk offers the possibility of finding something shaped by time: smooth stones, weathered shells, or small fragments carried by the sea. These natural elements are carefully gathered and thoughtfully reimagined, allowing their stories to continue in new forms.
The studio preserves these materials within handcrafted soaps or transforms them into silver jewellery, creating pieces that invite a lasting connection with nature. Each object carries traces of its original environment while becoming part of everyday life, balancing simplicity, craftsmanship, and a sense of place.
