August in review, working from Colorado
1. What a blessing it is to be able to work remotely with a business that was created through so much divine inspiration, faith, and love. Taking Full of Grace on the road this August and working against the beautiful backdrop of Colorado has been such a gift. Surrounded by mountains, running water, blue skies, and the beauty of God’s creation, I’m reminded just how grateful I am to do work that I love, wherever He leads.
2. We’ve hiked many miles, taken in endless blue skies and mountain views, and shared some very special days with dear friends, as well as our daughter and son-in-law. There’s something about being surrounded by so much natural beauty that slows you down, clears your mind, and draws you closer to God and to one another. And yet, as wonderful as this time has been, it also reminds us of the people we love and miss—and makes returning home to them something to look forward to.
3.Last but certainly not least, this time away has also been a reminder that life continues to unfold no matter where we are. While we’ve been gone, we’ve experienced a family loss, watched dear friends face illness, and at the same time celebrated moments of great joy. There are moments when news arrives and time seems to stand still, reminding us how quickly life can change. Being away has a way of putting it all into perspective—keeping us grounded in our faith and reminding us that, in the end, the people we love, the time we share, and our relationship with God are what matter most.
And lastly…
4. And perhaps one final reminder came this week with the passing of Dolly Parton. For all the sparkle, talent, and success that marked her remarkable life, it was her faith, her love for Jesus, and the way she loved and lifted up others that spoke so beautifully about who she was. She lived with the assurance that this life was not the end and that one day she would see her Savior again. What a beautiful reminder to live with joy, love generously, hold tightly to our faith, and keep our eyes on what is eternal.
