Restoration or repair of an old, late '50s or early '60s rare archtop guitar by Roger, made in Mittenwald, Germany.

This beauty arrived at the workshop in critical condition: with the neck and body completely detached. To bring her back to life, we performed precision work: fretboard leveling, a complete refretting, and a solid neck reset to restore her stability and voice.

A crazy piece of history worth looking up? Go check out the story of Wenzel Rossmeisl and his son Roger (which the brand is named after). They shaped European and global luthier history.

Customization of this Jackson Guitars Concert X Bass belonging to Ikki, bassist of the power metal band Frozen Crown: Ikki had already started some mods, installing EMG pickups and hand-cutting an aluminum pickguard with a jigsaw; here we took the project to the next level by reversing the Precision pickup, creating a new CNC-cut aluminum pickguard, simplifying the wiring to just a single volume control and a 3-way toggle switch, and finishing it all off with a tiger-stripe paint job fit for a true Rock King!!
Next week they’ll be hitting the road in Japan 🇯🇵 get ready for some epic power metal action!

Tre Buzzard bass signature John Entwistle (The Who), due Warwick Bass Official e un raro Status in fibra di carbonio, sono passati in lab per un paio di interventi mirati:
•Sostituzione della meccanica del MI con una Hipshot Products Inc X-Tender, per il passaggio rapido in drop D
•Cambio dei pickup MEC con degli EMG Pickups sui 2 Warwick.

Con questa foto di un condensatore un po’ eccessivo vi auguro una buona festa dei lavoratori!
…Io intanto me ne vado in ferie, quindi il laboratorio rimarrà chiuso fino al 13 maggio.

Questa Gibson Les Paul Custom del 1971 è arrivata in laboratorio per un refret... Acquistata come "tutta originale/mai ritastata", presentava la mancanza dei nibs del fret-edge binding, dettaglio che fa insospettire ... (vedi foto 2)...

Il cliente voleva un ritastaggio senza rettifica della tastiera, anche se il radius 12" era rimasto solo all altezza del primo tasto e il binding, dopo 50 anni di liscio in balera, era praticamente arrotondato...

ho optato quindi per un refret over-binding, ricreando la spalla sotto i tasti. L’unico modo per non toccare la tastiera e rendere il tutto più funzionale possibile .. tasti Jescar 50078 N/S e sostituito l' originale capotasto in plasticone con uno in osso!

...ultimamente qui pubblico poche chitarrine, riparazioni, modifiche, ecc... ma le “comunicazioni di servizio” per avvisarvi se il laboratorio è chiuso o aperto non mancano, e questa è una di quelle!

Quindi..: dal 30 ottobre al 14 novembre, il laboratorio sarà chiuso, perché… ¡Que viva México! 🇲🇽

Resterò comunque attivo al solito numero per qualsiasi considerazione e appuntamento! Ándale, Ándale!
