A rare 19th century French Napoleon III sewing table, fully restored in my workshop using traditional shellac finishing applied both outside and inside. The hinged top opens to reveal a burl maple lined interior with original oval mirror and fitted compartments, a true jewel for collectors of fine marquetry furniture. Ebonized legs with gilt brass fittings and a beaded brass gallery frame the richly inlaid floral top.

18th-century pair of monumental carved wooden putti. The natural wear on the original water-gilding beautifully exposes the underlying red bole, while the roughly hewn back confirms their period craftsmanship and architectural origin. A refined example of Neoclassical cabinetmaking in the Louis XVI tradition. The semicircular body is veneered in tulipwood with diagonal quarter-matched panels, framed by fine boxwood and ebony stringing. Each door bears a central oval medallion with ribbon-tied lyre motif — a recurring emblem of the period’s decorative vocabulary. The grey veined marble top completes the piece with characteristic restraint. Available.

Solid walnut bookcase-vitrine from Northern Italy, mid-nineteenth century.

Two glazed doors, adjustable interior shelving, lower blind panels. Figured walnut veneer with flame grain on the projecting cornice. Bracket feet with scrolled cutouts. Original lock hardware intact.
Restored in our Lecce workshop with traditional shellac and hand pad polishing.

Solid walnut sideboard, Northern/Central Italy, circa 1800–1825. Flame and burl walnut panels, three-drawer upper section, inlaid wood escutcheons. Restored in shellac and pad polish. 145 × 63 × 115 cm.

CHERRY WOOD SALON TABLE — SALENTO, c. 1850–1870

A solid cherrywood centre table from the Salento region, restored to shellac. The scalloped apron is a distinctive mark of 19th-century Salentine cabinetmaking — a local decorative vocabulary rarely found outside Puglia. Turned central column on three hand-carved scrolled legs.

Solid and veneered mahogany. Carved acanthus legs with volute feet. Central pierced cartouche apron. Original Carrara marble top with serpentine profile. Shellac hand-polished in our Lecce workshop.
On display: a pair of Herend porcelain ginger jars and a leaf-shaped dish, hand-painted in Hungary with the iconic bellflower motif — delicate cobalt blue blooms on white ground with gilt details. Available separately.
