Die überraschende Zugabe beim Abschlusskonzert der Masterclass 2026 in der Hall mit einem Stück aus einem verlorengegangenen anonymen Manuskript, das ich für das von mir geleitete Ensemble on Renaissance-Fagotten arrangiert habe.
Ein großes Dankeschön an Wolfgang dafür, dass er seine hervorragende Aufnahme geteilt hat.

A wonderful experience in Hall in Tirol with my second masterclass for an ensemble of Renaissance fagotti and fagottini.
Musicians from a wide backgrounds and with diverse levels of experience.
Akio and Christof was the solid foundation on which we start to work on a repertoire I am developing for the Consort Milanese Fagotti Rinascimentali (CMFR).
The ensemble then expanded to include our dear friends Matteo and Gulia, followed by the superb Maestros Eliseo and Leyla—both talented musicians who played my bass instruments for the first time in the very low registers of my transcriptions, which were arranged to have the alto part in the first voice.

A huge thank you to Ivan and Daniele for the trust they've placed in me.

440 hz pitch, mesotonic temperament, which is essentially intrinsic to the instrument's original characteristics.

Today, together with Andrew Burn, we successfully completed an experiment in which we dared to modify my 440 Hz Bass Dulcian (post-Berlin) into the transitional version, thus fitting it with a G♯ key.
A fascinating comparison with the boot of my original Kies suggested the position of the hole, thanks to the incredible correspondence in the dimensions and positioning of the tone holes.
The result – which will shock the purists – is an excellent, precise and well-tuned low G♯, with a good relationship to the F♯ and low E.

Tenor dulcian ready for the Vriendenkring van de Academie van Jette in Brussels.
It is a 440 Hz instrument with a range that can be played without too much difficulty from G3 to A5. For the virtuosos, it is possible to go up to D5, and perhaps even higher. However, this is certainly not necessary for the repertoire of this instrument, which is essentially that of a human tenor voice but also of an alto (something not uncommon in the Venetian repertoire of the 16th and 17th centuries, where parts designated as tenor are written in the alto clef).
