[English version below] La ditta G. Barsanti & Figli nasce nel lontano 1835 a Pisa. Nei negozi siti in Piazza del Duomo, di fronte alla celebre Torre Pendente, venivano vendute statue e colonne in marmo bianco di Carrara e alabastro, una pietra tipica del luogo. Gli Scultori che lavoravano nei Laboratori della Ditta producevano una moltitudine di oggetti per quelli che erano i turisti di allora. I
grandi ambienti affrescati del Negozio permettevano l’esposizione di molte statue e colonne, apprezzate negli anni da acquirenti da tutto il mondo, come testimoniano gli innumerevoli scambi commerciali con l’Oriente e le Americhe. Dal 1960 in poi il Negozio inizia ad ampliare la propria offerta merceologica affiancando alle opere in pietra anche prodotti dell’artigianato locale. Ad oggi il Negozio si presenta molto differente da allora, troviamo infatti una molteplicità di prodotti d’eccellenza dell’artigianato italiano e della moda internazionale, adatti al pubblico di oggi che presta molta attenzione alla qualità. Entrando nella Galleria, subito ci si rende conto della magia che in quel momento si sta vivendo per la bellezza e la varietà degli oggetti che vi si possono trovare. Dal 1835 ad oggi l’Azienda è rimasta chiusa per un lungo periodo solo durante le due Guerre Mondiali e continua ad essere amministrata direttamente dalla Famiglia Barsanti. Da più di 150 anni ha risposto alle esigenze di chi, per un regalo prestigioso, per un oggetto di classe da custodire nella propria abitazione o per un magnifico oggetto da regalare, si è recato nel bel Negozio in piazza del Duomo.

G. Barsanti e Figli is a family business founded back in 1835 in Pisa. It started as a sculpting studio with a storefront facing the famous Leaning Tower in Piazza del Duomo where in-house sculptors could showcase and sell their artwork. The beautiful frescoed spaces of the store were the perfect place to display finely handcrafted statues and columns in alabaster and Carrara white marble, appreciated by customers from all over the world and highly sought-after by collectors from both the Americas and the Far East. In the 60s, thanks to a steadily growing business, the Barsanti family decided to expand and offer a more varied selection of products, from jewellery to leather goods and fabrics, all sourced from the highly skilled craftsmen working both in Pisa and all over Tuscany. Fast forward to the present, the store now looks and feels quite different, here international fashion labels go hand in hand with the excellences of Italian craftsmanship with products carefully selected to meet the exacting standards of today’s customers. Still run by the Barsanti family, the store has only been closed for a prolonged time during the First and Second World War, establishing itself as an iconic presence in Piazza del Duomo.
