𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝘀-𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗮𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀

🍇 A celebration of Dionysian revelry transformed into a jewel.

This sterling silver bracelet, inspired by a Roman marble bas-relief preserved in the Archaeological Museum of Naples, was handcrafted from a wax model by our skilled goldsmiths.

At the center of the scene stands an elderly Silenus, crowned with ivy, holding a cup in one hand and a wreath in the other — a symbol of his triumph over his fellow drinkers. Barely able to stand, he is supported by two youthful fauns. Behind him follow a Lampadophorus, bearer of the torch, and a Caneforum, carrying a basket. 🍷🔥

Around Silenus unfolds the vibrant world of the Bacchanal: a Bacchante, a musician, a young boy bearing initiation instruments, and a Phallophorus, a figure of festive rites, loosening his belt. Nearby, a female satyr places a shepherd’s crook (Pedum) and Pan’s flute (Syrinx) at the feet of Dionysus-Hermes, recognizable by the horns and the fawn skin (Nebris) draped around the torso. In one corner, Cupid approaches, as if eager to join the celebration. 🌿

To one side, a small altar crowned with a pine cone stands beside a burning torch, suggesting preparations for a sacrifice. A Bacchante reclines sensuously upon a bearskin, while a Satyr, drawn by the noise and revelry, emerges from his dwelling to take part in the feast. At the far end of the composition, another figure, disguised as a satyr, is seated upon the attribute of Priapus-Hermes.

The entire scene unfolds in a woodland landscape, dotted with oak trees and a solitary palm — a richly theatrical and symbolic evocation of the ancient Dionysian world.

This sterling silver pendant features a genuine Roman coin dating to 137 BC, depicting the iconic Capitoline she-wolf nursing the twins Romulus and Remus. On the reverse appears the helmeted head of the Goddess Roma, the divine personification of the Eternal City. 🏛️

According to Roman mythology, Romulus and Remus were abandoned on the banks of the Tiber after King Amulius of Alba Longa ordered their death. Miraculously rescued by a she-wolf, who sheltered and suckled them, the twins were later discovered and raised by the shepherd Faustulus and his wife.

Romulus would eventually become the legendary founder of Rome. ⚔️

The Capitoline She-wolf became one of the most powerful and enduring symbols of the city — an emblem of protection, strength and Rome’s divine destiny. 🍀 Fortuna, the Roman goddess of luck, fate, and destiny, is the protagonist of this 925 sterling silver bracelet, set with an authentic Roman coin dating to the 2nd century AD.

On one side, the coin depicts Fortuna, while the reverse features the bust of Julia Domna, one of the most influential women of the Severan dynasty. 🏛️

Known to the Greeks as Tyche, Fortuna personified the unpredictable nature of life — the mysterious force capable of bringing prosperity, success, or sudden reversal.

⚓ She was often represented with a ship’s rudder, symbolizing her power to steer human destiny;
🌾 with the cornucopia, symbol of abundance and prosperity;

Archaeological finds also reveal fascinating connections with other deities: an amulet discovered in the House of Menander in Pompeii, for example, associates her with the Egyptian goddess Isis in the form of Isis-Fortuna. ✨
