Reunited! This pair of instruments just got reunited in our workshop. The D just got done with some needed TLC and the 00 just got consigned. The back and sides for both come from the same old pernambuco board that we had resawn ages ago. For no particular reason other than similar aesthetic taste of the respective owners, they’re both shade tops (albeit with some, intentional, chromatic difference) and have pearl. The dreadnought is style 42 with the long pattern snowflake fingerboard inlays, while the 00 is style 40 (I.e. no fingerboard link) with the short pattern snowflake fingerboard inlays and an ebony bound ebony fingerboard, for a very clean look. Both sound quite phenomenal, actually…

FOR SALE: 2025 00-40 with pernambuco back and sides.

One owner guitar. Since it was delivered in summer 2025 it has only been played and properly cared for.

Moon logged euro red spruce top (picea abies), crazy quality pernambuco back (with chevron backstrip) and sides, Honduran mahogany neck with double non adj rod (maple v + carbon fiber), ebony-bound ebony fingerboard with short pattern, vintage abalone snowflake inlays, ebony pyramid bridge with drop-in bone saddle. All hide glue construction, pure nitrocellulose lacquer with the very time consuming (on a shaded top) vintage gloss top.

1 3/4" nut, 2 5/16" string spacing at the saddle. Low action, slim neck profile. *Extremely easy to play*

Needs nothing, just a lucky new owner.

On consignment in our shop, asking 11k Euros.

Locating the bridge on this OM-18 with ebony rod and bar frets. It will also get banjo tuners, making it de facto a 1930 OM-18 'replica'.
A bench copy would require American red spruce (Picea rubens) for the top and Sitka spruce (Picea sitchensis) for the braces. This one features moon-logged European red spruce (Picea abies) for both the top and braces.
Let's put it this way: if Martin & Co. had their workshop in Markneukirchen instead of Nazareth, PA back in the day, Picea abies is what they would have used throughout. It was a matter of availability back then, and it still mostly is today: buying local allows access to the best quality wood and, most importantly (for 1930's Martin in particular), the best value.
