Luci di Lucca Luxury candles hand-poured in Lucca, Tuscany. Inspired by the gardens of Villa Grabau and crafted with fine fragrance, natural wax, and Italian elegance.

Luci di Lucca is a luxury lifestyle brand of scented, natural wax candles, hand-crafted entirely in Italy. Founded in 2020 whilst under lockdown, we create our candles slowly in small batches, using sustainably sourced ingredients and responsible packaging. We use a sustainably sourced rapeseed and coconut wax blend from Europe that is 100% plant based, biodegradable, vegan friendly and completely free from paraffin, soy, palm, beeswax and additives. Our cotton wicks ensure a clean even burn. Each candle is presented in a beautiful glass vessel made in Italy from lead-free eco-crystal, a 100% recyclable material. They are hand decorated by Veronese artisans and can be reused as a decorative object around the home when the candle is finished or refilled with your favourite fragrance. Our packaging is also 100% recyclable and is produced and printed in Italy.

Did you know how important it is to keep the wick perfectly centred when making a candle?

It seems like such a small thing, but it can make such a big difference to how your candle burns.

I’m in my laboratory today making 40 candles for a September wedding, so there are quite a few wicks to keep an eye on!

There’s something special about seeing candles that I make here in Lucca finding their way into beautiful spaces on the other side of the world.

Pasquale et Maurice have been stocking Luci di Lucca in their Connecticut interiors store for several years now, and I always love spotting my candles in the beautiful interiors they share.

A few small rituals I never skip before friends arrive.
Fresh flowers or herbs basil from the garden. A table set with care. And lighting a candle.
It’s such a simple moment, but somehow it changes the atmosphere.
It’s one of my favourite parts of entertaining.

Summer is one of the most challenging times of year in the candle workshop.

When the temperature climbs above 30°C, the wax takes much longer to set. As it cools, small sinkholes and wrinkles can appear on the surface of the candle.

I nearly always have to do a second top-up pour — and sometimes even a third one - to create the smooth, even finish that you see.

It’s one of those details most people will never notice.

But it’s one of the reasons every Luci di Lucca candle is finished by hand. 🤍

One of the advantages of making your own candles?

You get to test them.

Every fragrance, every wick, and every burn is carefully evaluated before it becomes part of the Luci di Lucca collection. It’s a slow process, but that’s how beautiful candles are made.

Truth be told, it’s one of my favourite parts of the process... and probably the best excuse to light a candle in the middle of a workday. 💚
