e trepidation that Carli taught this age-old tradition to his pupil,knowing that although the craft could be acquired over time,the artistic ability was an innate,unattainable quality.That was twenty six years ago. Now Paolo continues to search incessantly for ways of modifying his vision of the perfect oarlok as sculpture.He has adapted his teacher's traditional methods to solve the modern problems on the lagoon.His innovative style resonates for all who see his work.It is the on an unconscious level that one feels the oarlok' feminine lines evoke primordial forms.
_It is, however,in Paolo's altruistic search for balance of art and desing,that he feels al home. An able artisan and a tru artist, this simplist of men can be found chipping away in his workshop in pursuit and contemplation of the artistry of oarlok making.with the same wood, Paul also builds bracelets, necklaces and other items ....., attentive to detail and elegant forms, to bring out all the beauty of wood....
