Pardon. pardon pour ce silence. La nécessité de la vie m’a éloigné de ma passion première, dessiner et transmettre !

Je me suis manqué à moi-même, vous m’avez manqué et il était temps que je revienne à ce que je sais peut-être faire le mieux : raconter des histoires :
C’est avec joie et tendresse que je me reconnecte sur cette page Facebook, que je vous y retrouve, et que je partage à nouveau mes aventures, mes souvenirs d’enfance et les nouveaux projets en cours.

Pour ceux qui l’attendaient depuis longtemps, le nouvel opus des Lettre de mon Moulin sortira le 19 septembre prochain !

Le site de précommande est déjà mis en place par mon éditeur. Je tenais remercier les dizaines de personnes qui ont déjà commandé de livre, ça me touche énormément !

Dans les prochains jours, je partagerai avec vous toutes les étapes de l’impression, de la signature du BAT, du calage des machines pour l'impression, l’édition zéro, et enfin du livre en main propre. Je partagerai avec vous également les premières images d’un autre projet encore secret. Et je me réjouis !

«Rupture is a gallery of books, not a bookstore. I want to surprise people. I want them to feel like they don’t know where they are».

RUPTURE – ‘A MOMENT TO REINVENT ONESELF’ – THE FIRST ‘HYBRID SPACE’ CURATED BY ALEXANDRE SAP, BETWEEN RARE BOOKS, ART, AND MUSIC

When Alexandre Sap experienced his first rupture. What he identifies as a moment where he can reinvent himself. He combined his knowledge from his previous experience in the music industry and his background in advertisement. However, he wanted to create a space where his artists could hang out, listen to music, and look at records. From this, he founded Rupture Record, a café in Paris that aspired to create a ‘cultural haven’. A hybrid space where people could work and immerse themselves in art, music, and converse with others. Free from the pressures of the external world all while having a cup of coffee.
Wanting to continue expanding his network of international cultural spaces and needing to feed his hunger for art and beauty, Sap traveled down to the South of France, to Marseille. There, he took over a bookstore that specialized in Architecture. And that was la Cité Radieuse of Le Corbusier. The start of Sap’s expansion of cultural networks.

Having curated a large selection of books on Architecture, Alexandre Sap wanted to create a link between Marseille and Venice. With the Biennial of Architecture in mind. And so, Mr Sap looked to Italy for his next step.

In May 2023, Alexandre Sap finally opened his first international Rupture store in Venice. «I want people to come in, grab a book and read the whole thing if they want. The doors to the store are always open. I want the space to be somewhere peaceful people can come to. They can even change the music if they want to. There has to be an exchange of culture and conversation. I want people to find something that they wouldn’t find anywhere else».

ALEXANDRE SAP PRESENTS RUPTURE, A NETWORK OF LEGENDARY BOOKSTORES EXTENDING ACROSS THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA.
Our friend, the French cultural agitator and music producer Alexandre Sap, had a brilliant idea: saving culturally significant bookstores on the verge of disappearing. In response to our digital society dominated by algorithms and endless image scrolls, he decided to revaluate the cultural importance of books and printed matter by creating a network of hybrid concept stores: Rupture. Starting with Paris, he decided to expand throughout the Mediterranean Sea, recalling the history of this multicultural geography for exchange, arts and philosophy. First step was Marseille in 2022, where he revived the legendary Imbernon bookstore in the Cité radieuse Le Corbusier. Then, in Tangier, he reinvested the Librairie des Colonnes, previously supported Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé. Recently, he opened a new Rupture libreria in Venice and plans to expand to Athens and Istanbul. This network of modern bookstores provides a platform for events and exhibitions opening up countless opportunities for artists, curators, and brands to reconnect with the roots of the multicultural Mediterranean landscape. “Art people or employees” è un catalogo pubblicato in occasione dell’omonima esposizione alla Galerie Port Avion di Marsiglia nel 2011.

La raccolta fotografica rappresenta e riproduce una selezione di immagini, fotografie, di Susanne Strassmann che riflettono su determinate dinamiche che coinvolgono il mondo dell’arte, con particolare attenzione all’interazione tra le opere, critici e pubblico.
Sfogliando le immagini captiamo uno sguardo curioso e sincero da parte dell’artista, che cattura momenti e gestualità all’apparenza banali ma fondamentali a decifrare la zona grigia che automaticamente va ad instaurarsi tra opera e opera e tra opera e persona.
 Indagando sulle gestualità, i codici, Susanne Strassmann ci restituisce un piccolo assaggio dell’essenza mutevole e labile del modo dell’arte e delle persone che lo compongono e vivono.

EDITIONS DE L’OBSESSION - NUMÉRO QUATRE

Editions de l’obsession #4 fa parte di una collana nata nel 2019 e pubblicata dall’omonima casa editrice.

Tra le 176 pagine, le ossessioni dei diversi contributi si alternano tra testi e immagini: dall’architettura ai quattro angoli d’Europa, una storia dell’Alpine, le ostensioni religiose limousines, un Partito Intimo che ripensa la contraccezione maschile, un testo inedito di Sabyl Ghoussoub e un racconto di George Orwell, le miniature di Solène Rigou, una 929 insulare, una storia di saponi e dei cruciverba.
Come citato nella lettera dell’editore Camille Vachin, l’architettura è sempre stata tema ricorrente ma in questa edizione prende uno spazio tutto suo, diventando protagonista.

HISTOIRE D’UN (VRAI) FAUX di

“Histoire d’un (vrai) faux”, libro curato da Philippe Munda, combina diversi documenti sul “Traité du style” (1928) di Louis Aragon e sul ready-made “Fountain” (1917) di Marcel Duchamp, intrecciando due storie legate ai campi letterari e artistici del primo ‘900.

Già nel 1979, Gérard Berréby riproduce clandestinamente il “Traité du style”. Poi, dal 2007, Saâdane Afif colleziona pagine sulla riproduzione di “Fountain” (The Fountain archives).
Il libro inizia con: «Destinée de La Fontaine. /…/ Ne forçons pas notre talent, Nous ne FAIRIONS rien avec grâce». Questo incipit guida l’autore a estrarre frasi con il verbo FAIRE, formando la struttura dell’opera.
Il contenuto del libro alterna armonicamente i testi ripresi e le immagini scannerizzate delle opere e trattati dei contributi coinvolti: Gérard Berréby, Louis Aragon, Marcel Duchamp, Philippe Munda, Sààdane Afif.

L’edizione è stampata da Pulsio Print, Sofia, con il supporto di Cnap e Regione Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur.

Public Collectors viene fondato nel 2007 e presentato nella Biennale di Whitney del 2014. Il libro promuove la condivisione delle collezioni di cultura materiale—quella tipologia di oggetti che la maggior parte dei musei non espone.

Estendendo il noto sito web omonimo, questo libro presenta una vasta gamma di collezioni d’immagini d’oggetti—alcune già presenti sul sito, molte assemblate unicamente per la pubblicazione—arricchite da commenti ed essai che esplorano i problemi e le politiche legate al collezionismo di materiali che possono mancare di un valore monetario o culturale convenzionale.

Feininger-Harley di

“Feininger - Harley” include opere, bibliografie e lettere d’artista degli artisti Lyonel Feininger e Mardsen Harley nel 1944.  

All’interno del catalogo le immagini delle opere in bianco e nero e a colori e i pensieri degli artisti si intrecciano ai testi dei diversi contributi presentati: Alois J. Schardt and Alfred H. Barr Jr., Dorothy Canning Miller e Monroe Wheeler.
Ne vengono stampate 7,200 copie nell’ottobre del 1944 per i fidati del Museum of Modern Art di New York da Platin Press, con l’aiuto del figlio di William E. Rudge per le stampe a colori.

La copia è in buone condizioni, mostra dei piccoli deterioramenti del dorso e qualche pagina debole.

PAINTINGS di JOHN FAHEY

John Fahey, noto chitarrista avant-garde, ha mescolato influenze che spaziano dal folk e blues alla musica classica e al noise, pubblicando oltre tre decine di LP. Negli ultimi anni della sua vita, ha esteso il suo approccio “American Primitive” alla pittura, esperienza che vediamo espressa nelle opere contenute all’interno del libro.

Tra gli anni 90-2000 crea opere ospitato nello studio di Melissa Stephenson a Salem, Oregon, su cartoni e carta riciclata, utilizzando tempera, acrilico e spray. La sua tecnica intuitiva ricorda gli action painter e gli espressionisti astratti, estetica che riflette anche la sua musica.

Il volume John Fahey: Paintings è realizzato in collaborazione con Audio Visual Arts, presenta 92 illustrazioni accompagnati da saggi di Keith Connolly e Bob Nickas.
