It has been a privilege to work with Anne and Jean on this amazing project. Heres to many more !

We're incredibly proud to share that the project 'Forget-me-not: Restoring Jersey's Threatened Native Plants' was awarded Best Conservation Project Runner-up at this year's Intact Insurance – Intact Assurance Channel Islands Conservation Awards 🪻🌟

The judges recognised the project for its powerful work restoring one of Jersey's rarest native species, highlighting the clear signs of recovery, strong ecological impact and long-term value.

Whilst the award names two members of the Jersey Biodiversity Centre team, Emily Wagdin and Anne Haden, this project the result of the dedication of multiple organisations and individuals over several years including the Société Jersiaise, Société Jersiaise Botany Section, The Botanic Gardens at Samares Manor, and Infrastructure and Environment - I&E Biodiversity Team.

Well done to all involved! This was a true team effort than couldn't have been achieved without collaboration and passion 🌱💗

There is nothing better than coming in on a wet windy day to check Trip Advisor and find a review like this!

Review from May 12, 2026
Samares Manor
Marvelous experience of enjoying a living working garden, it was charming.
Didn’t know what to expect after seeing some reviews. But we had a marvellous visit, stayed about five hours. Spoke to the owner whilst she was feeding her donkeys. She was charming. Her ethos of now enjoying a lived, non-pristine garden is absolutely perfect. There are many aspects to delight whilst going around the site. The cafe serves with friendly informative staff, and Maria took time to explain about the food coming in freshly each day, all made from scratch. Couldn’t speak more highly of the set up. My friend Erika and I, Lesley, we enjoyed it all enormously. Quite like the idea to stay in the accommodation on site next time. Thank you everyone it was just perfect
Thank you so much Lesley and company 😁
