Meet the Artist August 26th 10-2

Tomorrow, we’re delighted to welcome Jersey-based artist Annabel Godfrey to The Rocque Paper Co. shop as part of our Summer Art Series.

Annabel’s work moves beautifully between themes of our local shores, playful and fun pieces, and still life — bringing a lovely sense of Jersey, colour and character to everything she creates.

You may already know her work from her Le Banna clothing and print collection, which has been part of our little shop. Tomorrow, we’re excited to introduce her original artwork to The Rocque Paper Co. for the very first time. ✨

🌸 HALCYON DAYS 🌊

Step into the world of Jersey artist Debbie Crane with her new solo exhibition, Halcyon Days.

Inspired by the beauty of the island, Debbie’s collection captures vibrant flowers, peaceful coastal scenes, and the simple moments that make life by the sea so special. Each piece celebrates the colours, textures, and tranquillity of Jersey’s landscape.

Somewhere in this season of daffodils and mini eggs, our little family grew by one. ❤️ The past few weeks have been both a whirlwind and a series of moments where time has stood still. Sleep is sparse, meals are one handed and teas are very often cold. But none of this matters as I try and soak in every single moment.

A little snapshot of life in the shop today. Merri the pup is keeping me company while I work on product descriptions and copy for our new website. 🙌🐾

We are both exhausted as this week we not only start moving our paper making to a new workshop, but also move house as a family. I think you can tell by our expressions that we are running on tired. 🤣

The middle room is very much a work in progress with winter maintenance projects including turning this space into the print room. This will be where we showcase our gorgeous prints and cards designed by the wonderful makers in the shop. It will also remain the main space for letterpress printing. It is so wonderful to be able to showcase various parts of the paper making and finishing process in the shop. Looking forward to officially opening this space again soon.

In other news I’m sitting in a slightly funny position today so my feet can be raised due to some gorgeous ankle swelling. If you’ve popped in the shop it will be obvious why this ankle swelling is happening. 🤣

Also trying to line up artists for our rotating summer art series. If this is something you are interested in, please get in touch! It was such a delight having various artists showcase their work over the summer months.

And last but not least, our February Workshops are about to be posted. Two new workshops lead by local creatives designed to reconnect you with your inner artist and maker. Keep an eye out for details 💐🧵🙌

Shop closed today. We will reopen Wednesday 10-2 as normal. 👇

Mummy, Maker, Dreamer. That is how I’d describe myself. When I started pursuing this path I was determined to build something around our little family. And so many times it works this way. But today, with a birthday in the house and a slightly under the weather birthday girl, it is clear I need to be at home. With her. To keep her feeling settled. To keep the cheer levels high and ensure she is better for her party tomorrow.

Today the mummy in me is first. The maker is on hold.

We will be open as usually this week 10-2 Wednesday to Saturday.

Oh Hello! January has become a time of hibernation and this year is no exception. I’m not a huge fan of the wind and rain, but over time I’ve learned to lean into the warmth this season brings. A time of fires, puzzles and snuggles with the pup and the kids.

This January has had a good amount of reflection and dreaming too. 2026 will be a big year for life in the shop and a home. More on that coming soon.

Thank you to everyone who has popped in the shop already this year.

We are now open again with our regular hours. 10-2 Wednesday to Saturday.

Thank you for your support in 2025. This has been an exciting year for the shop. The first full year as a bricks and mortar store. It has been wonderful to meet so many people through daily visits, Art exhibits and workshops. We look forward to bringing more local creativity to the village in 2026!

To the makers and artists in the shop, thank you! Your work brings a richness to Jersey that we are lucky to have as an island. It is a privilege to showcase your work.
