🎄 Spruce up the holiday season—Become our Garden Centre Santa! 🎅

Are you looking to bring the magic of Christmas to life this season? ✨ We’re looking for a jolly and kind Santa to spread Christmas cheer, greet families, and make magical memories for the little ones in our Garden Centre!

🎅 Your time as Santa at Ransoms:

• Spreading joy: Walking around the store, talking with children and their families, and creating a festive atmosphere.
• Gift giving: Handing out small treats and gifts (all provided by us).
• Posing for photos: Have festive photos taken with families.
• Story time: Sitting down for scheduled story time sessions to read Christmas tales to the children.

🧑‍🎄 How we’ll support you:

• Payroll employed: This is a paid position on our payroll for all agreed dates and hours. Hourly rate based on experience and availability.
• Safety: As this role involves working with children, an appropriate DBS check will be arranged and covered by us as part of the recruitment process.
• The look: A real or fake beard, a big heart and genuine festive enthusiasm are a must! If you have your own Santa costume, that’s a plus; otherwise, we will provide one.

After 16 years at Ransoms, Carmen is saying goodbye 💐 She will enjoy retirement with her husband Geoff, going out for lunches with friends, and just making the most of every day the Carmen way.

We want to thank Carmen for her longstanding dedication to our houseplants, customers, and fellow team members. 🌿 This beautiful, kind, and resilient woman is an inspiration to us all, with her passion and knowledge of houseplants and her strong work ethic. Just as important, her smile and hugs which she gives out generously ❤

We will miss Carmen, but she is passing on the baton to Maria, who has been working with Carmen for 4 years, learning from the best and ready to take over the houseplant area with the same energy 💪

🌷 Carmen’s last workday at Ransoms is Friday, 30th October. Please do come up to wish her well; her working days are Mon – Tues and Thurs – Fri, 9am – 5pm. 🌷

🌿🫒 Straight from Tuscany — our new olive trees are arriving soon! 🇮🇹

Rebecca and Andy have just returned from Tuscany, Italy where they’ve been hand-picking some very special plants for Jersey. And the first of our new stock will soon be arriving… the olives!

🌱 From little to large
We have olives ranging from mini standards, perfect for a front door or terrace pot, right through to large, mature specimens with wonderfully gnarled and characterful trunks.

They're surprisingly adaptable. They can happily live in a pot and don’t necessarily need an enormous container. If you have the space, however, olives are happiest planted in the ground with plenty of sun—the more, the better—and free-draining soil.
If your garden is on the damp side, don’t rule out an olive; come and talk to us! There are ways of improving drainage and creating the right growing conditions.

🌿 Our first Tuscan olives will be available very soon! And, just to prove these really were hand-picked in Tuscany, we’ve included a few photographs of Andy on his travels! 😂 🇮🇹

We offer FREE delivery and are always happy to talk through your individual olive requirements, whether you’re looking for something small and elegant or a statement tree with years of character.
