Spring is on its way at Treadles 🌸

My goodness, time really does move on and it already feels like spring is just around the corner. 🌸

Our January fabric releases are currently in transit after a few delays, and we’re hoping to be unpacking them very soon. Once they arrive, we’ll be restocking our pre-cuts cart with rolls and squares, topping up the fabric shelves, and adding new seasonal ribbons, including delicate sheers and our regular satin favourites.

As Christmas approaches, we’d like to wish all of our lovely customers a very Happy Christmas and a healthy New Year. Thank you so much for your continued support throughout the year, it really does mean the world to us.

Our opening hours remain the same over the festive period, although we’ll be closing a little earlier on Christmas Eve at 2:00pm. We’ll reopen on Wednesday 7th January at 10:30am.

We’ve also been having a good sort through the storeroom, which means there will be a sale of bits and bobs to make room for new stock. If you enjoy a rummage, there are remnant bundles, bags of yarn, cottons and silks, perfect for smaller projects and textile students. 'The festive windows are sparkling, the shelves are filling up, and we’ve unpacked even more Christmas stock this week. For sewers, we now have beautiful Christmas prints and a versatile panel that can be turned into table runners, cushions, a wall hanging or even a quilt. Quilt waddings are back too, in both sew-in and fusible.

For knitters and crocheters, our new super-soft acrylic yarn is here. It doesn’t bobble, comes in 30 shades (plus 6 multis), and is available in DK and Aran weight. We’ve also unpacked the latest Rowan Mode Winter collection, perfect for anyone who loves texture and mohair.

There are plenty of books for sewing, knitting and crochet, plus a wide range of sewing machines and accessories if you’re ready for a new project this season.

There’s a definite chill in the air… but something magical is starting to arrive at Treadles.
Our Christmas deliveries have landed, and the shop is full of unopened boxes just waiting to reveal their treasures. So far, we’ve unpacked starry festive prints, gorgeous ribbons and essential haberdashery (yes, the D rings are back!) and there’s plenty more still to come.

Could it be Rowan’s Kaffe’s Palette? Rich ruby tones? Something soft and cosy for the knitters? You’ll have to pop in and see as the shelves transform week by week.

We’re heading into our summer break here at Treadles, just a short pause while we recharge and enjoy a bit of sunshine.

We’ll be open as usual this upcoming Wednesday and Saturday, then closed from 28th July until 12th August. We’ll be back open and ready to welcome you from Wednesday 13th August.

If you're local to Jersey, you’ll know the Battle of Flowers is nearly here, one of the real highlights of the summer. With vibrant parades, flower-covered floats, live music and community celebrations taking over town, it brings a brilliant buzz to the island. This May, Jersey remembers its Liberation 🇯🇪 It’s such a special time for the island – and one of the loveliest ways to mark it is by exploring the Liberation Town Trail, running now until 18th May.

There are 27 illustrated window displays dotted around St Helier, each one telling a story about the island’s past and its journey to freedom. It’s a beautiful mix of history, art, and community – and a lovely excuse for a wander through town.

It’s really starting to feel like spring now, isn’t it? The sunshine’s making a few more appearances, the daffodils are out, and Easter has brought that lovely excuse to slow down, maybe have a bit of chocolate, and enjoy the break.

We hope you have a lovely Easter, whatever you get up to! Things have been busy in the shop with some gorgeous new arrivals that feel just right for this time of year.
