SUGAR CANE has renewed and re-released our classic 11oz blue denim work coat, a staple item for many years.

This simple yet timeless piece is inspired by post-World War II store-brand work coats, featuring vintage details. It includes a right chest flap pocket and a versatile 3-in-1 pocket on the left chest. The large waist pockets come reinforced with an additional layer of fabric, and an interior pocket is also equipped on the right chest. Built to last, the coat is constructed with durable triple-needle stitching on the shoulders, sides, and armholes.

シンプルながらガチャポケ仕様など、ヴィンテージのディテールが備わった第二次世界大戦後のストアブランド系のワークコートとなっている。台襟が省略される前のモデルで、右胸はフラップポケット、左胸は3in1ポケット仕様。大型の腰ポケットは当て布付きで、内ポケットも右胸に装備している。肩や脇、袖ぐりなどは3本針巻縫いで頑丈な作り。

Available in two popular denim fabrics from The Strike Gold—the Tough series and the Classic series—both of which develop a rich patina with long-term use.

This short, classic jacket, commonly known as the "Harrington Jacket," is made of stiff chinocloth.
The name "Harrington Jacket" comes from the jacket worn by Rodney Harrington (Ryan O'Neal), a character in the American drama "The Peyton Place Story" broadcast in the 1960s.
The greatest appeal of this standard item is that it matches any style.

デニム生地表面にわずかに見えるベージュのヨコ糸がインディゴブルーのタテ糸に独特の表情を与え、さらに長年の着用により濃淡のメリハリの効かせた荒々しいエイジングを堪能できる。正にハードワークの中で駆け上がっていったあの時代のワークウェアを想起させる。

　1950～60年代、ゴルフをはじめとするスポーツシーンから学生の日常着としてまで、幅広く愛用されていたアメリカの代表的なスポーツジャケット。ヴィンテージではレーヨンコットン生地のものがポピュラーだが、このモデルではコットンクロスを使用。着込むことで生地のパッカリングやアタリなど、経年変化を楽しめる。
　スポーツジャケットは高年式になるにつれ生地に化学繊維が混ぜられ、ディテールの省略も行われていったが、このモデルは初期型をベースとしており当時の特徴的なディテールをすべて再現。ヴィンテージにみられる着丈が短い、腕が太いなどのシルエットについては改良を施している。

　大型のメインネームと便利なハンガーループ。前中心部分には極細のコードをくるんでステッチを入れており、ファスナー開閉時のスライダー噛み込みを防いでくれる。襟を立て、首元のチンストラップを使用すれば遮風性を高めることができる。ポケットの周りは太めのコードで縁取りされる。デザインポイントかつアタリの楽しみな部分。背中の裾部分はゴムシャーリング仕様。適度に腰をホールドする。脇下には菊穴が開けられ、通気性を確保。袖や脇部分は2本針巻き縫い始末。袖口ボタンの調節は2段階。また、開き部分にゴムシャーリングがあるのでスムーズに腕まくりができる。レインショルダーと運動量を確保するタック。

　900年以上前、平安時代から受け継がれている伝統的な染色技法『柿渋染め』。
平安時代に侍や山伏が柿渋で染められた赤茶色の衣服を身に付けたのが始まりとも言われています。
高い殺菌力や消臭効果があるため、漢方薬としても使用された柿渋で染められた布は日光や空気に触れることで色が変化し深い色合いになることから太陽染めとも称され、長きに渡り日本の人々の暮らしに寄り添い今に至ります。

米海軍「SEABEES」所属の兵士が、1969年に沖縄のコザでカスタムオーダーしたスーベニアジャケット。通称「オキナワジャンパー」と呼ばれ、部隊のスコードロンや駐留していた地名が刺繍されている。ボディは8オンスのデニム。ヴィンテージをもとに褪色していないデッドストックの状態を想定したワンウォッシュモデル。
Reproduction of the souvenir jacket that appears to be custom-ordered in Koza, Okinawa in 1969 by a soldier belonging to the US Navy "SEABEES". Commonly known as the "Okinawa Jumper", it is embroidered with the unit's squadron and the name of the place where it was stationed. Made of 8 oz denim.
