WHY SPECIAL? STITCH COLOR

オーダージーンズでは、ステッチの色を選べます。
では、なぜそれが「スペシャル」なのでしょうか。

ジーンズは工場で作られます。
ふつうは同じデザインのものを一度にたくさん縫い上げます。
使うミシンは10種類以上。
スピードも大切です。そうしないと、一本あたりの価格が上がってしまうからです。

そのなかで糸の色を変えるには、すべてのミシンの糸を掛け替えなければなりません。
そのたびに、ラインを一度止めることになります。
実は、とても手間のかかる作業なのです。

糸は、ポリエステルの芯を綿で包んだ「コアスパンヤーン」。
縫い目が丈夫で、穿き込むほどデニムと一緒にステッチも色落ちしていきます。

「ステッチの色が選べる」
言葉にするとシンプルですが、実はスペシャルなこと。

あなただけの一本を、糸の色から。

With our made-to-order jeans, you can choose your stitch color.
So why is that special?

Jeans are made in factories, usually in large batches of the same design.
Each pair passes through more than 10 different kinds of sewing machines, and speed matters. Without it, the price of every pair would go up.

To change the thread color, every one of those machines has to be rethreaded, so the whole line has to stop.
It takes far more work than you might think.

We use core-spun yarn, a polyester core wrapped in cotton.
It makes strong seams, and the stitching fades along with the denim as you wear them.

"Choose your stitch color" sounds simple, but behind it is something special.
Your own pair of jeans, right down to the thread.

Back in the Edo era, this land was sea.
We reclaimed the land and planted cotton.
Sanada cords. Tatami edging. Tabi socks.
Workwear. School uniforms.
Then came jeans.
With every change, we found a way.
We remember our roots.
This is the Jeans Museum.
Betty Smith. Established in 1962.

Six new fabrics have joined the Order Jeans lineup.

Leading the way is the soft, expressive Madagascar Denim, newly added to Betty Smith's core denim range this season — alongside a Slub Yarn Denim woven with a beige weft thread, and Herringbone and Nep Stripe Denims in indigo yarn. Every one of them is a fabric that changes character the more you wear it.

Order Jeansのラインアップに、6種の新しい生地が加わりました。
今期よりベティスミスの定番デニムに新たに加わった柔らかく表情豊かなマダガスカルデニムをはじめ、緯糸にベージュの糸を使用したムラ糸デニム、インディゴ糸のヘリンボーンやネップストライプデニムなど、どれも、穿き込むほどに美しく表情が変わっていく生地たちです。

The new lineup also includes:

・Houndstooth Denim, woven with indigo-dyed yarn
・12oz Madagascar Denim, blending Madagascar cotton with Egyptian Giza cotton
・Jazz Nep Denim, featuring indigo-dyed nep yarn
・14oz Slub Yarn Denim, with a beige weft for an antique finish
・12.5oz Selvedge Stretch Denim, combining vintage texture with everyday stretch

And new to the custom menu: a denim jacket with a wool blanket lining — extra warmth and character, tailored for the season ahead.

Betty Smithの「ORDER JEANS®」は、生地から選び、ディティール、加工まで選べる究極のジーンズ。

お客様の体型に合わせ、1点ずつパーソナルパターンのデータを元に裁断します。

仕立ては、岡山県児島——ジーンズの聖地にある、オーダージーンズの特別な工房で、一本ずつ丁寧に縫い上げます。

Betty Smith's "ORDER JEANS®" is the ultimate custom jean — choose everything from the fabric to the details and finishing.

Each pair is cut from your own personal pattern, made to fit your body.

It's then carefully hand-sewn, one at a time, at our special order jeans atelier in Kojima, Okayama — the birthplace of Japanese denim.

約50種類の中から選べるデニム生地に、ボタン・リベット・革パッチ・ステッチの色まで、細部までこだわって選択可能。フィット感は専門フィッターが採寸し、シルエットや加工の好みも丁寧にヒアリングしながら仕立てていきます。

Choose from around 50 denim fabrics, along with buttons, rivets, leather patches, and stitching colors — every detail is yours to decide. Our specialist fitters take your measurements and listen closely to your preferences for silhouette and finish.

京都の純金糸、純銀糸、浅草の純銀ボタンや久留米絣のスレキなど、日本の伝統技術が詰まった特別なオプションもご用意。

We also offer special options rich in Japanese traditional craftsmanship — pure gold and silver thread from Kyoto, solid silver buttons from Asakusa, and Kurume-gasuri pocket lining fabric.

出来上がりまでは約1〜2ヶ月。¥45,000（税込¥49,500）から、世界に一本だけの一本をお届けします。

Completion takes about 1–2 months, starting from ¥45,000 (¥49,500 tax included) — a truly one-of-a-kind pair.
