Happy Takamine Thursday! Expert guitarist Brett Vaughn does this laid-back demo of a great guitar: the G Series GN73CE. This cool NEX cutaway guitar is a retro-inspired satin black machine that would look as at ease on a rock stage as it would in a speakeasy. Beneath its sleek exterior, the GN73CE's solid spruce top sonically reflects with authority off of the maple back and sides. This guitar gets bold and loud, but has no problem handling delicate passages with supreme articulation. Fitted with Takamine’s TP-3G preamp, the GN73CE takes to the stage with ease. Takamine artist Lance Allen recently decided to celebrate his 20th anniversary of uploading great fingerstyle guitar content to YouTube by doing this fun cover of the Brian Wilson/Mike Love-penned Beach Boys classic "California Girls" using his Takamine EF75. If you're lucky, you can still find the modern update to that model with the thermal spruce-topped Limited Edition Series EF75M TT. https://www.esptakamine.com/videos/2049025/

Takamine artist Jacob Johnson always delivers some of the most expressive playing imaginable on his battle-worn Pro Series P3DC dreadnought cutaway, so it's no wonder that his latest tune is as lovely as it is. And if it has a familiar melody, that's because your great-grandparents probably danced to it once or twice. "Smile" was composed by Charlie Chaplin for his 1936 film 'Modern Times,' and renditions have been done by everyone from Nat King Cole to Michael Jackson to Lady Gaga. Ironically enough, the now-90-year-old film was about holding on to our humanity as technology transforms the world around us... something most of us can definitely relate to today! You can listen to Jacob's outstanding take on "Smile" via Spotify and other streaming platforms. https://www.esptakamine.com/videos/2049022

Mexican artist Yng Naz stopped by our Takamine USA facility in Los Angeles to get his bandmates Takamine P3DC-12 serviced ahead of his tour across Mexico.

While visiting with our team, he took a break to test out a few other guitars in the showroom and play a couple of songs on the EF450C-TT and GN37CE-PW.
