While in Tokyo, I spent a morning at learning a very special stitch for a baseball pouch. We chatted about life and bonded over our commonalities despite coming from different cultures. Finding connection through the craft. thank you for the experience.

One of the techniques we learned earlier this semester: piping ✂️

Everything gets sewn inside out first with the piping caught in the seams, then the whole bag is turned right side out at the end.

The cylindrical machine take II. I am having a better time, this time around. Tap tap 🏁 and stop 🛑, slowly. Someone gave me this advice in the comments. Thank you, that worked!

First time working with leather on a cylindrical machine to sew leather 🪡. It humbled me really quickly!
- It is not flat but curved so it is hard to control.
- There are several layers of fabric and the fabric wants to twist and slide
- There is no re-do with leather, it is one shot.

Kudos to all the artisans and bag makers who master it and make it look super easy. This was the hardest part of the process for me! Especially since I added tabs and hardware to the design, which my teacher advised me against for a beginner project.

I am learning a lot about precision and craft after spending 4 hours on a machine troubleshooting and stitching crooked lines.

Back to where it all started, San Francisco, for a few days.
As I was scrolling through my old posts for Entitled Goods, I remembered the excitement, the creativity, and the desire to keep improving every piece.

That feeling hasn’t changed.

Now getting ready for a pop-up in NYC in just a couple of days! I’m excited to showcase some Entitled Goods pieces this Sunday, August 17th with the Beauty to Ware market at .nyc in SoHo.
