【Aquvii Art Ticket” Publication Launch Exhibition】

“Aquvii”, a brand with shops in the Shibuya area of Tokyo, has now branched into another area and published the “Aquvii Art Ticket” art catalogue. Aquvii will be holding an exhibition at the Yokohama CreativeCity Center (YCC) to commemorate this publication.

Consisting mainly of pieces in the catalogue, the exhibit will include a special Aquvii museum shop and feature a live performance by usaginingen among other events.

Don’t miss this chance to see the works of 13 artists gathered together under the same roof!

With “gift” as a concept, Aquvii is a shop carrying imported goods and original items. Aquvii has another dimension, engaging in the on-going art project called “AAT.”

“AAT” is “AquviiArtTokyo,” the wall exhibition at Aquvii’s second shop Aquvii Tokyo. It is also the limited time only gallery “AquviiArtTHETERMINAL” that took place in 2013 and 2014 at THE TERMINAL.

As new “AAT” project, Aquvii has published a mail order catalogue of artworks selected by Aquvii.

With the special order sheet (the ticket) attached to the catalogue, wouldn't you want to get your favorite artwork?

Through the color black, the two young Japanese female artists express "ASIA," which is the theme of AquviiTOKYO from June to September. A ink wash painter CHiNPAN and calligrapher Mami combines tradition and renovation in their artwork.

"Harajuku Art Meeting Your Eyeball Up in the Air!!"

"Aquvii" running shops in Daikanyama and Shibuya have agreed with THE TERMINAL Gallery's concept, "Making Art Closer."

With the wish to connect people through art, we present Harajuku Art Meeting, "Aquvii Art THE TERMINAL."

This is the 2nd year that we will be holding AAT. This time we have gathered art galleries from various fields on the 1st floor to hold collective exhibition "AATgalleries." On the basement, there will be another collective exhibition "AATapartment," where publishers and curators exhibit in each of its room/box. You can see, feel, and actually buy many different kinds of art!!

Thanks to their corporation, you can also find art in Harajuku shops, cafes, salons, and galleries during the event. If you go around these shops and collect points, you can get a present at THE TERMINAL.

『Photo-mirror: Japan』

“Photo-mirror” involves photo and drawing. I made a drawing to respond to the chosen photo. It’s an attempt to create a dialogue between photo and drawing, reality and imagination, fortuitous and deliberate. Such juxtaposition is like the reflection in the mirror. Photos in this series were the snap shots that I took in Japan few years ago.

【Aquvii Daikanyama Exhibition News】

From September 12th, we are holding an exhibition of Hori Narumi. She just moved form Sapporo, Hokkaido, and it would be her first exhibition in Tokyo.

Children cannot control themselves freely yet.

Artist profile:

Born and raised in Los Angeles, artist Will Goodan is living and working in Tokyo, Japan. Creating works ranging from photography to collage, fine art to digital, Will immerses himself in the mental imagery created from years of traveling and experiencing countless cultures with an open mind while applying that to his craft. With beginnings in illustration and 3D animation, an unconventional application is brought to the eras of the 1980s and 90s punk and hip hop culture. With a wide variety of mixed media and emphasis on color palette, Will strives to consistently distance himself from conventional methods of thought to produce a wide gamut of output. In the search for abstraction between reality and the surrealist world, his creations put the viewer in a dreamlike space.
