今回は、山梨県・山梨市にある「大平 BIGFLAT」さんをご紹介します！
JR山梨市駅からすぐの「大平 BIGFLAT」は、オールジャンルの中古レコードを中心に扱うレコードショップです。ロックやソウル、ヒップホップ、和モノ、ジャズからワールド、レゲエまで幅広く揃い、新品レコードや7インチも取り扱っています。店主のBig Benさんは、山梨を拠点に活動するヒップホップグループstillichimiyaのメンバー。もともとレコードを買い続けていたところ、友人から「レコード屋をやったら」と勧められたことをきっかけに店を始めました。店内では、レコードだけでなくstillichimiyaや親交のあるアーティストのグッズ、Tシャツ、雑貨なども展開。さらに、幼なじみが営む甲府のコーヒー店のブレンドを使ったコーヒーも楽しめます。レコードに詳しくない人にも店の面白さを知ってほしいという思いから生まれた、音楽と街のカルチャーが自然につながる場所です。

Whole Earth Record Store Map | BIGFLAT
This series introduces captivating record stores from around the world, exploring the personalities of their owners and the diversity of record culture.
This time, we’re visiting “BIGFLAT,” located in Yamanashi-shi, Yamanashi.
Located just a short walk from JR Yamanashi-shi Station, BIGFLAT specializes primarily in used records across a wide range of genres. Its selection covers everything from rock, soul, Japanese music, and jazz to world music and reggae, along with new vinyl and 7-inch records. The shop’s owner, Big Ben, is a member of stillichimiya, a hip-hop group based in Yamanashi. After years of continuously buying records, he was encouraged by a friend to open a record shop, which eventually led him to start BIGFLAT.
Inside the store, you’ll find not only records but also merchandise, T-shirts, and miscellaneous goods from stillichimiya and other artists with whom Big Ben has close ties. You can also enjoy coffee made with a blend from a coffee shop in Kofu run by one of his childhood friends.
BIGFLAT is a place where music and the culture of the local community naturally come together, born from a desire to share the fun of the shop with people who may not know much about records.
