Tonight is Jūgoya, Japan’s traditional autumn moon-viewing night. 🌙

On this evening, people admire the moon and offer tsukimi dango while giving thanks for the autumn harvest.

In Japan, the patterns on the moon have long been imagined as a rabbit pounding mochi. Our rabbit matcha bowl is the perfect companion for this seasonal moment.

Matcha, tsukimi dango, and a quiet moment before the moon rises.

A toast, shaped by six months to a year of craftsmanship.
Each w**e cup is carved from a single piece of Japanese keyaki wood and carefully finished with urushi lacquer by skilled artisans.
The urushi creates a smooth feel at the rim, while the wooden body offers natural lightness, durability, and insulation—a distinctly different experience from drinking from glass.
The natural version highlights the beautiful grain of the keyaki wood. The maki-e version is decorated using a traditional Japanese lacquer technique in which gold and silver powder are applied to create an elegant, luminous design.
A piece of Japanese craftsmanship, made for a special toast.

Now available in store at O’MATCHA ISSHIKI, Tokyo.
Come and experience the beauty of the wood grain and urushi finish in person.

Is your chasen losing its shape?
After use, the bamboo tines can gradually shrink inward or bend out of shape as they dry.
A chasen holder (chasen naoshi) helps maintain the whisk’s shape while drying, keeping it ready for your next bowl of matcha.
A small step of care for a tool you use every day. 🍵

茶筌なおしを使って乾かすことで、穂の形を整え、次の一服にも使いやすい状態を保ちやすくなります。
