On August 28th, Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry announced a new goal to increase the number of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations to 300,000 by 2030. This figure is double the original target and is a tenfold increase compared to the current number of installations. The primary locations for these new installations will be in commercial areas and on highways, with a focus also on improving charging speed and operational convenience. A new charging method, known as "Plug and Charge," is also being promoted. This initiative is a crucial step in Japan's goal to become a decarbonized society.
