その表情をラグの中に描きました。

一見シンプルに見えながら、
近づくと浮かび上がる線の重なりや、
手仕事ならではの毛足の揺らぎ。

今回制作したMrirtの中でも、
最も大きなサイズの一枚です。

Inspired by the natural veins running through stone,
this design translates the quiet, organic lines of stone into a rug.

At first glance, it may appear simple,
but as you look closer, subtle layers of lines and the gentle movement of the wool reveal themselves.

This is the largest Mrirt we created for the 2027 collection.

Old African Textiles

Different from rugs,
these are old textiles that have been used in everyday life across Africa.

The character of the weave, layers of color,
slightly irregular lines, and the texture created over time
all carry traces of the hands that made them and the lives they have lived.

Not only as floor coverings,
but also hung on a wall or draped over furniture—
there are many ways to bring them into your home
and enjoy them freely in everyday life.

アフリカの暮らしの中で使われてきた古い布たち。

織りの表情、色の重なり、
少し不揃いな線や、長い時間を経て生まれた風合い。

猛暑の中、スタッフが屋外で掃除や作業をするときに、
「ツバの広い帽子が欲しいな」と思い、辿り着いたのが
ベトナムの伝統的な帽子、ノンラー（Nón Lá）。

ベトナムでは、農作業などの際にも被られている帽子だそうです。

日差しをしっかり遮ってくれる実用性はもちろん、
Tシャツに合わせてラフに被っても、
これがなんとも可愛い。

今年の夏、私たちも実際に被ってみて、すっかりお気に入りになりました。

ベトナムから5つ仕入れましたので、

A vintage Beni Mguild rug, handmade in the Azrou region of Morocco since the mid-20th century.

Woven entirely from 100% wool, Beni Mguild rugs are known for their thick, dense pile and substantial weight.
Made for life in the harsh climate of the Atlas Mountains, they were designed to be warm, durable, and practical.

One of the distinctive characteristics of Beni Mguild rugs is their rich, saturated colors.
The beautiful Moroccan wool is traditionally dyed with natural dyes, creating deep shades of red, orange, and blue, often expressed in a single, monochromatic tone.

This particular rug is especially charming for the small girl woven into its design.

Two rugs, semi-custom made in Taznakht, Morocco.

The original design was created by a Berber woman who drew inspiration from Picasso’s work and translated it into a rug.

Because the original rugs were quite large, we had these two pieces woven in custom sizes suited to Japanese homes.

Taznakht rugs are made with high-quality wool comparable to that used for Mrirt rugs. Natural plant dyes create their soft, nuanced colors, adding depth and warmth to each piece.

They are also more accessible in price than Mrirt, while offering the beauty of traditional craftsmanship combined with contemporary design.

A beautiful balance between Moroccan tradition and modern living.
A rug that brings together the best of both worlds.

Inside a traditional Japanese wooden house over 100 years old,
we quietly present a collection of African folk art and objects with a rich history.

The first floor is dedicated mainly to rugs.
Upstairs, three small rooms reveal
a slightly different world.

Objects that have been cherished and used in everyday life,
each carrying a story of its own.

During the Obon holiday,
we will be open by appointment only on August 15, from 10:30–12:00.

Vintage Boucherouite Rug

A vintage Moroccan Boucherouite, made by hand from strips of recycled textiles, each one knotted and woven into place.

Against a soft, neutral base, touches of blue, pink, green and black appear freely throughout the rug.

There is no strict pattern or predetermined design.
Instead, its character comes from the materials at hand, chance, and the intuition of the maker.

That sense of freedom and imperfection is what makes Boucherouite so special.

Paired with aged wood and sculptural objects, it brings warmth, texture and a playful spirit to a space.
