Our Asanoha Temari keyrings are now available at Four Seasons Hotel, Tokyo Otemachi.

Each one is made by hand, so no two are ever the same.

Temari is a small embroidered ball with over 1,000 years of history in Japan. It has long carried the spirit of harmony, connection, and care.

A little piece of Japanese heritage to carry with you.

May it remind you that slowing down, cherishing one another, and moving gently through life together is not such a bad thing after all.

伝統を、持ち歩く。

Asanoha Temari

I’ve found the perfect venue for my Temari workshops in Omotesando!

It’s easy to get to for both international visitors and Tokyo locals, and it’s surrounded by great cafés, restaurants and shops.

What makes this place even more special to me is that Omotesando is where I started my very first job after university. In a way, it feels like coming home.

And, as a little bonus, my favourite clothes shop is on the ground floor!

I hope these workshops will become a place where visitors and local Japanese people can come together and connect through making temari.

I’ll share more details as soon as the workshop page is ready.

Enjoy the process, and you may discover what brings happiness to yourself and everyone.

This is one of the messages I find in temari-making. After I started making temari, I began to notice how much meaning the circle holds in Japanese culture.

The word en means a circle and a meaningful encounter or connection. Our currency is called yen which also means circle.

There is also the sound wa — it can mean harmony, Japanese style, and with a different character, even a circle.

In early Japan, prince shotoku brought idea that decision should be made in harmony through discussion, not simple voting.
Rather than rushing to a quick answer, people were encouraged to take time, listen to one another, and find the best way for everyone.
Making temari feels very close to this idea.
You cannot rush it.
You follow each step, one by one.
You share the time, the process, and sometimes the small mistakes too.
And through that process, something beautiful appears.
Perhaps this little temari keyring can be a small reminder of harmony, connection, and living happily together.
Not just as an object to carry,
but as a quiet reminder to enjoy the process —
and to find a way that brings happiness to everyone.

Yesterday, we welcomed a lovely group from Oregon, USA,

For many of them, it was their very first time making temari. Even though this was a simplified version, temari making is still not easy when you try it for the first time.

But everyone kept going, and in the end, they all completed their own temari key rings.

Thank you so much for taking on the challenge.
I really hope you feel proud of what you made — because you should be!

A big applause to you all.

I am also very proud of , who led the workshop for the first time. She prepared carefully, guided everyone gently, and did a beautiful job.

Last Sunday, we had the pleasure of welcoming the team from for a special temari workshop in Tokyo.
Seeing everyone carefully stitching their own asanoha temari and enjoying the process together was truly heartwarming.

Temari is a traditional Japanese craft, but we have designed this experience so that it can be enjoyed even within just two hours — making it accessible for visitors discovering Japanese culture during their stay.

I hope each temari key ring becomes a small memory of their time in Japan, something they can carry home with them long after the journey ends.
Thank you again to the wonderful team for joining and for embracing our craft with such curiosity and care.

We always love sharing Japanese culture through hands-on experiences, conversations, and creativity. ✨
