Somewhere in a dark cave...
" Master, it's dangerous how you're exposing yourself to the humans!" Macon said to Dreyfus Leo.
" She is my mate!" Dreyfus growled.
Many years ago, Dreyfus had a vampire army against the humans. There was always tension between these two creatures. A war broke and there were many casualties in both sides. When the vampire superiors noticed this they had to stop the war. A large percentage of their numbers was decreasing and this was alarming. Vampires could not generate themselves at the rate which humans were growing rapidly.
This led the vampires and human officials create a pact. The vampires were not to be seen anywhere near the human premises forever and that is how the war came to an end. Over a thousand years the world was peaceful, the new generations didn't even know that vampires existed in their planet. All the evidences were wiped off. The told stories remained myths to scare children not to roam around at night.
All was well until Belle Charlotte happened.
After every a hundred years, there is always a mating ceremony for the Vampires. Those who found their mates would take their vows and seal their pact by feeding into each other in front of the rest. Dreyfus being a master, could freely move around the planet. He knew the rules but no one would dare challenge him. He was the most powerful vampire as his lineage comes from the great family. For many years he has been looking for a mate in vain. He had two brothers, not from the same mother as his father has several women. His young brother found their mates over the years while he was still searching.
He found his mate in the early of his years but then she died during the war, from that day he hasn't found another. He would just find a random chick to quench his desires, with the aim of finding his mate amongst the many vampire ladies he laid with.
Time passed and he became bored, he was no longer interested in those vampire girls, if he hasn't found his mate yet amongst them, that means he was never meant to have one. Some said he was jinxed. Other said that it's because of his great lineage, they are only blessed with one mate.
That made sense, Dreyfus's father married two other ladies after his mother passed away. He also didn't find another mate. It sounded logic. He could be like his father and marry any other but that's not like him. He still believes that his mate existed.
It wouldn't be hard for him to find a beautiful lady to marry since he was the most good looking vampire amongst them. The ladies would die to be a metre close to him. A few got lucky that they got laid by him. He just f**ked them that was all. He didn't kiss any of them after his mate. His lips were tempting, they looked delicious but he wouldn't dare kiss any of those girls, that is one of his principles. Those who got lucky were aware of this rule.
How he saw Belle Charlotte? It was almost evening, Drey was among the few vampires who could roam around during the day. The sun wouldn't affect them. Belle was with her team of engineers directing them over one of her projects of building a resort in the woods.
Drey was somewhere around those woods that particular day. A strong sense of her smell hit his nostrils and from that instance he knew he found his mate. At a very fast speed he moved closer to where the project was going on and there he saw her. Her heartbeat...
At that moment he knew she was human. His mate was a beautiful human. Her black hair, honey like complexion, slender figure, beautiful voice made Drey get lost in her. His vampire inside him was pushing him closer and closer...
That was when Macon pulled him away from that place very fast and only stopped when they were a mile away. Macon is Drey's disciple, like a bodyguard. So wherever Drey was out of their circle boundary he would follow him around at a distance. Drey sighed at turned to him.
" She is my mate!" He growled.
" A human! Impossible!" Macon said shocked. He has been alive for many years even before Drey came to existence and nothing like that ever happened. A human mate was never in their history.
" Man, you're just h***y, I'll find you a nice chick for you tonight."
" No! I want her! She is my mate!" Drey spoke, his eyes turned gold and that is when Macon realised he was saying the truth, when vampires find their mates for the first time, their eyes would glow gold.
" She's human, and she would freak out when you go to her right now. You know how you look right now, those humans would freak out. I suggest we go back at think through what we would do next." Macon was able to reason with him and Drey calmed down. He was the only one who could calm him when he is out of his mind. Drey sighed and agreed to go back with Macon. He couldn't stop thinking of her smile, her figure... He got hard just by thinking of that. He asked Macon to bring him a few chicks but then he chased them away the moment they appeared.
They were not Belle. He wanted Belle, his new mate.
He called Macon to his office which was located just after his bed room in the big mansion.
" Yes master?" Macon said.
" Find everything about her before tomorrow morning!" He ordered and Macon was on it already. It was not a big deal to find out a humans background, they are not as complex as the vampires.
Macon made a background check on her and reported immediately.
