There are fellows who remember our hardware exists on Sundays. That is the day they ring my phone endlessly. They do not give a care it's our day to worship our maker. That day we are their darling. They use binoculars to search for us . They use all meladrama just we serve them. But come weekdays they are nowhere in sight. They pass us without care.

Can we normalize supporting each other. Fimbo ya mbali haiui nyoka. Let's be like Somalis or Indians. They will never come to your shop when one of them has a shop nearby.

Let's embrace lifting each others up. This Picture brings such painful emotions.
And as always paluz hardware is the place to be.

We have to instill work discipline to our children. In young age they have to know money is made and doesn't grow on trees. Majority of us African parents had financially challenged upbringing. So when we got our children we pampered them . We didn't want them to go through what we went through. But now the realization of failed mentorship has dawned on us. Why should we make money and fail to groom our children. The heirs. The hope for tomorrow. Our sacrifice, hardwork and commitment should not be for nothing. Our children fails to see the hard work you put in generating that money. As we work, do business let's involve our children in making the money.
Let's be intentional, generational even. Let push our children forward. Let demolish the art of forever starting. Forever being in infancy. We should reach maturity in business. Let our great grandchildren not tarmac. Let our great grandchildren not be starters. They will find an ongoing venture. Cause their grandparents started for them.

We all have seen the fate of tuskys supermarket. Us in business we know the sacrifice, man hours that goes in making a business stand, succeed and thrive. It's one bitter story. I know the starter of tuskys, if he resurrected back to life, he would be one bitter person. All his efforts down the drain. I know may be he would still prefer death than life. So many dreams, aspirations and livelihoods are being ruined by the death of tuskys. My point, us African parents haven't learnt the art of succession. Now people will go back to zero. Trying again to stand. African business haven't learnt the art of maturity, developing roots that will stand for generations. The Bible talks about growing in our spiritual walk to maturity. We need to learn this, we need to go back to the drawing boards. We have to get it no matter what otherwise so much resources will be lost. Who wants to remain a baby forever.

Sometimes back we went to another business place that looks like they are doing so well. Later the brother to the owner of the business passed , him he still looks like he is still struggling. It's like he hasn't found his luck yet. I couldn't help but wonder if that business was being done the way Indians do their business, everybody in the family would be well catered for. If you are down you are lifted.
I think we need to ask the Indians what is their secret in succeeding in business.
You enter an Indian shop you find the whole family including shoshos, guka, uncles, aunties, cousin's, brothers, sisters and they are coexisting peacefully. We need to know the magic behind this.
