Love is...

A paradox, pain, and gain
complicated, complete
Healthy, sick
A wound, a scar
It's scary yet exciting
A moment, a memory
Your life and the death of you

A feeling chasing old wounds
a truth, a story , a lie
a spark of chemistry, a deep connection

It's all around, rare and hidden
found on narrow paths
roads not taken
Weakness. Strength.

Love again, hurt again
Search, it is everywhere
Begin in the mind
Be love
Be found
Hold it. Share it.
Love yourself

Keep calm
Spot it. Go for it.
Wait, it will find you
Do not fight it
Fight for it

Love comes, goes, stays, welcomes, cries, sings
Love is life
Love is surrender
Love is power
Love is ...how you view it

*Sarah and the little bird*
Once upon a time, there lived a beautiful girl. Her name was Sarah. She was kind and loved animals and every morning she would quickly get out of bed to watch birds sing, building nests on palm branches.
She would get lost in their view, watch them fly far away and then back to rest on their nests.
She always wondered how they managed to build their shelters without hands.
One day, as she was watching the birds, a hunter with his sling came and started aiming for the birds.
Sarah saw him and she thought, "what is this hunter doing to the beautiful birds? " then she shouted at him, "Leave the birds alone. " but the hunter would not care about Sarah so he aimed at the birds and shot the palm tree. All the birds flew away leaving their baby birds in the nests.
The hunter had killed one bird and it fell with its best. The hunter ran to lick the birds but left the nest with baby bird.
Sarah felt crashed and she could not do anything to the hunter.
She went to the nest and picked it with the baby bird in it. She looked inside a d baby bird had started developing feathers.
She thought for a while and took the bird home.
"I will take care of you baby bird but promise me you will be strong." she said with a heart full of love for the little bird.
She build a small place to put the nest and made sure no one harmed the bird. She planned baby bird meals and ensured she fed it always. She watched it grow feathers day by day and baby bird felt love from Sarah. They were best friends, baby bird learnt to sing and they would always sing together every morning.

"When you know little or nothing about something. It will never hurt you."This was perfectly said.
I sat watching the wood turn to red charcoal as we roasted maize. Four of us surrounded the fire, my husband to be, Kevin, his Almost retiring father Mr. Bosco, my husband's grand mother and a little nephew of Kevin.
We were in the village for vacation. Vacation I had forced my fiancé to bring me so I could see what was left of his family since his mother had died of an " accident "
Even now i had not asked him what really happened bit I knew it was a topic he would never discuss to impress me.
The night was chilly and Kevin and slept in his old room.
"Your room will never stop being your room son, he said. Take your beautiful woman to rest, you had a long tiresome journey ." his father told us as he also left the fire took few seeds of roasted corn and carried his grand child who was at the mercy of her grandmother's lap. Poor little boy.
"You do not need to worry, we will have all the village fun. No one comes around here, just family."my sweet Kevin assured me as we slept.
In the middle of the night I woke up and couldn't find Kevin in bed.
It was around two am and I thought maybe he went to the restrooms which we did have outside the house.
I tried closing my eyes to this new environment but I couldn't, then I heard some murmurs from the living room. I stayed calm but the murmurs kept on and on until I had to get out of bed and find Kevin.
I did found him with his father and their faces did not appear happy.
"Now I should extend few years because of your brother, one mistake and your brother will be taken." Mr. Bosco said as he tried to stand.
"I will speak to him tomorrow, Dad you must go back to sleep and I'll do the same, I left Laura I hope she doesn't wake up to find me gone." Hearing that I quickly tip toed back to the bed and stayed quiet until Kevin wrapped me in his arms from behind and I turned to him slowl

When I got in the house with his guide on the tour.
"Welcome to my hole girl." I knew I was safe. When I saw how everything laid down, no bed, just a mattress. I knew I should feel disappointed but I
I kinder felt great In my heart. I did not understand if I wanted to agree that I was disappointed and feel okay, but some how I was still okay. I was hungry and he looked at me and said,
"What will I get you. And we do not have varieties here."
I smiled and said, "anything you find is cool with me."
"I will close this door so you do leave and wander around ."
It was the first time I came to this place and I wasn't planning to leave. He worked as a radiographer in a private hospital but he told me, he just moved in to this new place.
Looking at the room I knew I should think of decorating it if I was going to stay for long.
Being alone I felt my whole being holding my heart, supporting every feeling I had for him. I did not like a disorganized guy, low class, no bed just the mattress, but he had my heart and that was all that mattered to me at the time.
He came back an hour later and he just smiled. He lied on the mattress and wrapped his arms around my waist. He touched my bear skin since the hem of my top had stretched upwards. I realized I had never felt so good in a long time. I wanted to let him squeeze himself on me but I was hungry. I mean I knew he was too, just not in the way that I was. He wanted me for a snack, a meal and every bite for a desert.

You shouldn't be here!"He kept shouting at her. The only words creating a memory inside her head and stuck at the back of her innocent mind. Laura sat at the corner of the house sobbing painfully.

Life had been perfect and when laura completed a degree in social work, her major and a minor certificate in criminology. Her boss Mr. Posa took her and Cynthia to a club in the middle of a dark night. The club was underground that no one would notice from outside. At the entrance she was perplexed by the things going on. Even in her internship she never got to deal with cases involving clubs. This was one of a kind. Looking at young adults having the fun of their lives under the roof of a busy building from outside felt pathetic to her sight. At first at least, going inside felt like a crime to her little did she realized that the same place will be her favourite field to view.
Mr.posa led them to a table at a corner of the club and the attend and in her black min skirt, long braids, bloody red lipstick a white T-shirt came to them. In a chewing gum, bent to Mr.Posa and whispered something.
As she bent two men from behind her stood arising the lady's attention and call to dance with them. She dismissed their demands and kept saying something to Mr.Posa. He kept nodding, and then left.
The music kept the room busy, as drinks kept rotating from one point to another in the hands of ladies and gentlemen.
"Order anything you wish to eat" Mr.Posa told them.

Some of us forgive some people but we don't forget.
I was in class six, young and tiny actually, in a class full of tall gigantic boys and girls.
Mostly these guys sit at the back, they are rude, they sleep even when a teacher is teaching.
So I collect books from all rows but the back always scares me. Sometimes these guys want to grab not even touch my tiny t**s that really hurts trying to surface themselves.
But hey, it's my job, but one day, I come from the staffroom and I call names of people to collect their books and the back benchers are not coming for their books. I figure they want me to go behind so they can harass me so after the rest pick their book they look at me coldly and I get angry, so I put all their books down. And this one tall, rude guy rises quickly and before I know it, he slaps all my stupidity out in front of the whole class.
I cry the whole day couldn't even go to lunch.
So I hated the guy but when we got to class eight I stopped and forgave him. But I did Not forget,
Years later guess what, I grew up, and we met again and he asks me out, I eat his fish with my friend, then I reminded him of the slap., he asks me to be his girl and I remember the slap again. Can you forgive and forget and take him, I think he will slap me even harder now...

she had no idea how she would live or what would come next for her. Her head was flooded with unanswered questions. Nightmares haunted her in her sleep. Crying sounds of babies filled her ears. She did not confront Jordan. There was no strength, sadness consumed her and she never wanted to meet him. she became silent and lost in her own world of shadows, nightmares, cries and tears.
Roommates discovered Aisha's co**se. It occurred on Mother's Day. With three sealed letters under her pillow, it was a dreary Sunday. One for the school, one for her friends, and one for her family. She died peacefully on her bed, covered with her blanket. Two birds dead, who held the stone? As though Aisha would rise and run for her morning lecture, a packet of pills beside her, a fallen angel, in the stomach of death.

It was agonizing to have him leave my sight in such a shattered state. I knew I would never again feel his touch or see his beautiful smile. I watched him take a step, then another, hoping he would turn to face me. He stood a little distance from me, his gaze fixed on the sky. He did not move his head. He continued walking after a few seconds; he was taking steps that are more significant. I noticed him rubbing his eyes with a handkerchief. I assumed I had done him a big disservice.
That was the most hurtful thing I did: Broke my heart. My beloved was no longer with me. My partner had abandoned me out in the middle of nowhere. I began to consider God. I was in excruciating pain. I needed someone to heal me.
Someone had to mend my damaged heart. I returned home feeling lonely and lost in the darkness of agony. I could not keep the tears from rolling down my cheeks.
