If God hadn’t been by my side, I would have been nowhere close to who I am today.
A few things I have learnt in my journey that I would like to share with you today, hopefully it will encourage a few of us that are in dilemma
✅Don’t give up, my jouney would have been easier and so it was easy to transition to my own job because I had supportive bosses who would push me to growth
This was also propelled by my passion & zeal
✅Learn as much as you can, in the place that you are, To be honest, a huuuuge part of why it was easy for me to get into personal into business, was because I made a point to learn and be curious in my previous work place (BINGWA BOOKSHOP) so i learnt as much as I could about sales & marketing, read a lot, interacted with clients to know what drives people and none of that was part of my job description. Today, I make money from that! Many thanks to my boss who inspired me alot infact he challenged me to read books 📚
✅Maximize your strengths and skillset. I am not the girl that had your typical talents, such as art, sports or anything. But I have been a confident speaker, since high school, talking to people direct, I could entertain some, u remember? since I have known myself. Combine that with a sufficient knowledge of sales and good customer care, and we are where we are today. I do alot talking to clients for a living! And I don’t remember anyone teaching me to maximize that in school. In fact, i was told to shutup a lot and stop being a “kiherehere”.
✅Bet on yourself and commit to finding out your superpowers. Mine is interacting with clients at the market place intelligence and an unimaginable resilience. Take time to know what you are truly passionate about. I am passionate about people and people growth and improvement. Why is that important? Where your passion lies, your purpose lies. And trust me, your money lies there too!
✅Hard work, determination, patience, consistency and a refusal to give up when things get hard, beats talent any day! A strong work ethic is underrated.
