Author of “OPERACY Book” Christopher Lee, believes that many talented young Cambodian writers have passionate in writing book after missing over 3 decades of reading and writing culture in the Kingdom.
“I think that after Pol Pot’s regime, many great writers were gone, Khmer Rouge killed all Cambodian intelligent,
so they have to restart new version again” said Mr. Christopher Lee.
He encourages young Cambodian writers to begin their talented again. He explained, Cambodian writers should not worry about either their books are good to read not, or worry of best quality of writing or not, but they just write it now and fixing it afterward.
“I do not worry much about Cambodian writers are not good as foreign writers, for the fact, foreign writers have their own way ahead. There are many bad foreign writers too. I would like to encourage Cambodian young writers just to write everything they interest in, and do not worry about good or bad, just write it.” said Mr. Lee.
He said that no one start doing thing perfectly at first, they always starting with many mistakes and those mistakes can teach them how to do better job later.
“You have to remember one thing, my father always complained the Japanese products, such as bad product 56 years ago, but now Japanese products one of the best world products” he said
To be a good writer, people have to be a good reader who has passionate about it. You have to have a goal and reach out many goals along the way to reaching a journey as a destiny. Example like a young Cambodian man who attended OPERACY some years ago, wrote an email to me and proudly claimed that he has reached his goal as film director in a big movie company in USA. When he set his goal, he set with something he loves.
The first edition of OPERAY Book has shared four key knowledge for success readers, Mr. Lee said number one is develop a good sense of perception about the world and themselves, number 2, they will understand what make people successful and what make people failed, 3, they will understand who will they change themselves from success
to be more successful and lastly, they will understand what is the meaning of their life
Exposure has been encouraged more and more readers, then they will develop to be writer later on. Next month Professor Christopher Lee will conduct one day training on topic “Anyone can write” this is meaning every Cambodian can write one book for gone. “It is not making you a great writer, but it will lift you off from not being afraid to write. Event no body read your book you will feel great.
