This September marks an important milestone for 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗮: our first participation in Maison&Objet (Maison&Objet Paris), one of the most important international meeting points for design, decoration, craftsmanship and the art of living from around the world.
🇰🇭 From Siem Reap-Angkor to Paris, Satcha brings Cambodia’s ancestral craft knowledge into contemporary life. Across our workshops, artisans work with ceramics, rattan and natural fibres, wood, stone, lacquer, painting, textiles, leather and jewellery — carrying forward techniques shaped over generations while giving them new designs, functions and shapes.
At Maison&Objet, we are presenting more than a collection. We are presenting a contemporary vision of Khmer savoir-faire. Our ambition in Paris is clear: to establish Cambodian craftsmanship as a distinctive voice within the international design landscape. To meet architects, designers, hospitality professionals, buyers and retailers who are looking not simply for objects, but for originality, provenance and exceptional making.
Cambodia has something specific to contribute to this conversation: techniques that belong to a place, materials that carry a history, and makers capable of transforming both into contemporary design.
✨ Heritage is not something we keep in the past. It is something we create with. In that sense, today’s Cambodian makers are the heirs to the builders of Angkor — not because they reproduce the past, but because they continue the same culture of mastery: learning a material deeply, pushing technique further, and creating something that did not exist before.
