Saarti is a combination of the words Sa art (Khmer for beautiful) and Aarti ( a Hindu religious ritual involving candles). We are committed to using natural, ethical products with the aim of empowering people through employment.

SAARTI has always been as much about atmosphere as it is about scent.

When I designed our Kandal Village store, I approached the space in much the same way I approach a fragrance. Every element needed to contribute to how it feels to step inside.

Terracotta walls and floors bring warmth and earthiness. Local marble connects the space to the Cambodian landscape. Dark timber, aged brass, soft pools of light and the flicker of candles create something quieter and more intimate.

But more than anything, I wanted the space to feel soothing to the nervous system. A place where you instinctively slow down when you walk through the door. The lighting is deliberately soft, the palette warm and grounded, the materials tactile and natural. Even our playlist has been chosen to create a sense of calm.

There was no outside designer. I designed the space myself, and our contractor brought it to life.

That is very much the way SAARTI has grown. From the fragrances themselves to the packaging, the objects, the labels and the spaces they inhabit, every design decision is made within SAARTI.

For me, none of these things are separate. The vessel, the box, the scent, the light, the texture of a room, the music playing quietly in the background. Together they create the experience.

Our Kandal Village store was designed to feel like stepping into the world of SAARTI. Earthy, sensory, tranquil and a little removed from the world outside.

In our workshop in Siem Reap, we blend, pour, fill and finish each piece by hand. These quiet, repeated gestures have become rituals of their own, transforming raw materials into objects of scent and ritual.

For us, Made in Cambodia is more than a mark of origin. It speaks of the hands, place and traditions that have shaped SAARTI from the beginning.

Introducing Ritual Sand Wax.

A new way to create candlelight from the objects you already love.

Simply pour the wax into a beautiful vessel, place the wick, light, and transform it into a candle. A ceramic bowl, an antique cup, a piece collected on your travels, or something found and forgotten can become part of your daily ritual.

There is something otherworldly about the fig trees of Angkor.

Their roots spill over ancient stone, winding through doorways and temple walls, slowly becoming part of the architecture itself. Nature reclaiming what was built centuries ago.

Our Fig Reed Diffuser takes its inspiration from these extraordinary trees and the lush landscape surrounding the temples. Rich fig is wrapped in creamy vanilla and dark cocoa, creating a scent that is warm, enveloping and quietly decadent.

From the ancient stories of Cambodia, Tales of the Naga is a collection shaped by myth, mystery and the sacred serpent spirits said to inhabit the waters and hidden places of the Kingdom.

Three fragrances, each telling a different part of the story.

NAGA
Herbal and woody. An earthy, atmospheric scent inspired by the ancient guardians of Cambodia.

NAGINI
Dark rose and patchouli. Rich, sensual and mysterious, embodying the feminine spirit of the Naga.

SOMA
Lychee and oud. Luminous fruit against dark woods, inspired by Queen Soma and the legend of Cambodia’s beginnings.

Together, they form Tales of the Naga, a perfumed journey through mythology, landscape and the stories that have shaped Cambodia for centuries.

Few flowers have shaped the history of perfumery quite like ylang ylang.

Native to tropical Southeast Asia, its intensely fragrant blossoms have been treasured for centuries in ceremonies, traditional medicine and daily life. The name is believed to derive from the Tagalog ilang-ilang, meaning “flower of flowers”, a tribute to its extraordinary perfume.

Harvested by hand when the blossoms reach their golden yellow peak, the flowers are distilled within hours to preserve their rich, intoxicating aroma. The resulting essential oil has become one of the world’s most celebrated natural perfumery materials, prized for its creamy floral depth and its ability to bring warmth, softness and elegance to a fragrance.

Some things are impossible not to fall in love with.

The moment we felt this handwoven cotton, we knew it belonged at SAARTI. Incredibly soft with an almost buttery handle, it is a joy to wear in Cambodia’s heat and humidity.

What makes it even more meaningful is the story behind it. The fabric is handwoven by rural Cambodian women, preserving traditional weaving skills that have been passed from one generation to the next, before being carefully sewn by talented local tailors.

Every piece is a celebration of craftsmanship, community and the women whose hands bring it to life.

Hidden deep within the shadowed corridors of Preah Khan stands one of Angkor’s most captivating guardians. Known by some as the Devata of Darkness, she waits patiently in the silence, revealed only to those willing to wander beyond the well-trodden path.

Unlike the celestial apsaras who dance across the temple walls, devatas are protectors. They embody the quiet feminine presence that watches over sacred places, reminding us that true beauty often reveals itself slowly.

Moments like these shape the way I create fragrance. The cool breath of ancient sandstone, the scent of lotus offerings, incense lingering in the darkness, and centuries of whispered devotion become part of the invisible stories I try to capture in perfume.

Cambodia is full of hidden muses. You simply have to step into the shadows to find them.
