Through the presentation of these 108 references, including Gerald’s releases, and through visual reimagination by Abu Qadim Haqq, we were collectively brought into a state of presence.
We acknowledged these references in time and space.

A Guy Called Gerald and Abu Qadim are shaping a format that responds as a progressive process in motion.

For an outside observer, the exhibition of the Calls of the 108 Afrofuturists provided clarity of vision and insight rarely seen before.

Like 108 anchors in time and space, it brought us into a deeper insight of progressive culture and revealed clear possibilities for the ongoing development of the future.

Gerald has given us 108 anchors—references that together form an image of continuation within his own evolving sound.

108 references
108 states of mind,
108 perceptions.

In a moment, the younger generation risks being absorbed by an AI-driven industry that threatens to strip away the essential, soulful core of electronic music and techno culture.

The 108 artifacts of Afrofuturism referenced by A Guy Called Gerald and reimagined in the visual universe of Abu Qadim Haqq.

Standing in front of the shelf of all 108 references and holding them as a guiding point gives us a clearer sense of authentic music culture.

Now, the larger question that arises is this:
How can we stay mindful of our continuation, maintaining purpose, nurturing the tree of culture from its roots to its branches?

It was undoubtedly a convergence of many coincidences that made this meeting possible. More than mere coincidences, we experienced the incredible impact of music and art, thanks to these two legends. The presence of genuine listeners and a loving atmosphere created a perfect symbiosis of interconnectedness. Gerald and Abu Qadim have fused the creative essence of visual and auditory art to a melting point, influencing each other across the past, present, and future.
It is an incredible honor to be involved with this project.
