From one blanket, three stories 🧵
These lumbar pillows began as a vintage Boujaad blanket, woven years ago from natural undyed brown wool — no dyes, just the sheep's true color. The pink, turquoise & green stripes? Pure Amazigh joy.
We carefully cut and stitched each cover by hand in our workshop, keeping every original embroidered diamond motif intact ✨

Every traditional Moroccan rug is built from more than just wool and color — it is built from knots. In the Amazigh (Berber) weaving tradition, there are several distinct types of knots, and each one carries its own name, passed down through generations of weavers. The choice of knot shapes the rug's density, its texture, and above all its strength.
Among these wool knots is the Taghnjajt knot, prized for its sturdiness and durability. It is one of the techniques that gives a handwoven Moroccan rug its lasting character — a tight, resilient structure meant to endure decades of use while keeping its beauty intact. When you run your hand across a piece like this, the firm, even surface is the quiet signature of knots like Taghnjajt: the work of skilled hands honoring a craft that is centuries old.
