The Moon Goddess... Though she is rarely mentioned in hymns and legends, her very being is woven from threads of moonlight—she embodies divine femininity, the quiet radiance of the night, and the fluid rhythm of natural cycles.
Like Selene herself, the Moon Goddess may appear in visions as an innocent maiden—mysterious and virginal—or reveal herself as a warm, compassionate Mother capable of restoring hope even in the darkest of nights. The threefold nature of the feminine—Maiden, Mother, and Crone, known as the Triple Goddess—is frequently associated with Selene.
The Moon itself reflects these shifting facets: from the slender curve of the crescent to the fullness of a brilliant disk. Selene teaches us to embrace these cyclical changes, to find beauty in every phase, and to understand that darkness is just as essential as light. Much like the journey from the youthful Maiden to the wise Crone, the lunar cycle reminds the soul that the greatest breakthroughs are often born of darkness, and that dawn inevitably follows even the darkest, moonless night.
Selene also reminds us that love can transcend the boundaries of time and space, even if the price of such love is often a profound longing. She calls upon us to cherish tenderness where other gods might choose wrath. Therein lies her unique allure: the Moon Goddess does not reduce things to ash but illuminates the soul with a gentle glow, guiding the way into the very heart of the night.

When moonlight drifts across your window and the world holds its breath in the silence of midnight, it is in that stillness that the paths to your innermost self are revealed. For the Moon, in its majesty and inconstancy, never denies its soft radiance to those who seek a glimmer of hope.

When Night envelops the Earth with its black veil, everything is shrouded in impenetrable darkness. Only the stars, as if frightened by the darkness, tremble and emit a pale light. There are many of them, they dot the entire sky, but they are powerless to dispel the darkness of night that has engulfed the entire Earth. And then, in the east, a faint, gentle glow appears. It gradually intensifies, as if the sky is engulfed in flames... After some time, the majestic Moon Goddess begins to rise in the east, on the horizon. She stands calmly in her silvery-blue chariot, slowly pulled across the sky by spirits. From her silvery-blue robes and from the crescent moon above her brow, a gentle silvery light pours onto the sleeping Earth, dispelling the darkness of night.
