For this episode, I’m joined by one of my closest friends, the founder and spirit of , who shares five songs that have marked important moments throughout his life.
We talked about his childhood memories, lifelong friendships, passion for photography, and the story behind the formation of Xanshyr. Tavka also highlighted Ghylba, the title track from the band's upcoming album of the same name, sharing insights into how the song came to life, the meaning behind the band's name, and many other fascinating stories along the way.

I'm especially excited to be premiering Ghylba through this episode. To me, Xanshyr's new album feels like a deeply personal and carefully crafted work that reflects years of thought, dedication, and passion. I sincerely hope the band continues building on this momentum, reaches larger stages, and finds even more listeners both in Mongolia and around the world.

Additionally, Xanshyr's album release show will take place at Narbar on June 6, 2026. Ihriegel will be performing with a full lineup, bringing a special set dedicated entirely to black metal, featuring a wide spectrum of the genre's darkest, heaviest, and most atmospheric subgenres. It's a set we've been preparing with great excitement, and we're looking forward to sharing it with all of you.

Xanshyr is one of Mongolia’s underground metal bands, known for their heavy, dark sound and lyrics that explore philosophical and social themes. Their music shows influences from extreme metal genres such as atmospheric black metal and doom metal. Mongolia’s metal scene is small, but it has a very loyal cult fanbase!

We hope his selected playlist offers a glimpse into what the younger generation is listening to, feeling, and gravitating toward today.
Although this episode was originally planned for release in mid-May, we decided to bring it forward after Billy included the Australian DSBM one-man project Abyssic Hate in his playlist. The project was founded by Shane Rout (Azgorh), who sadly passed away in March this year. Within the Depressive/Suicidal Black Metal (DSBM) scene, his album Suicidal Emotions remains especially recognized among listeners. At the same time, his work was not without controversy, as it contained elements associated with NSBM, leading some labels&platforms to retrain from distributing his music. But his work has left a lasting impact on many. Respect and RIP🕊️His music and the emotion he conveyed will continue to resonare with listeners!
