Some objects are made to be replaced. Others are made to stay.

Our latest bespoke order is a matching leather notebook cover expressely made to fit Moleskin size notebooks, and a sunglasses case, both handcrafted and hand-stitched in timeless cognac leather.

A notebook eventually fills, but its leather cover is kept and fitted around the next one. Sunglasses may change over time, while a beautifully made case continues its journey, acquiring character and a patina of its own.

That is the beauty of traditional leather craftsmanship: creating practical, everyday objects designed not for a season, but for many years to come.

A celebration of Malta’s sporting heritage.
Inspired by the centuries-old tradition of rowing in the Grand Harbour, the Birgu BluePrint Regatta collection pays tribute to one of Malta’s most colourful and fiercely contested spectacles.
Four original illustrations capture the distinctive boats, colours and waterfront identities of Birgu, Senglea, Kalkara and Valletta - historic communities united by the harbour, yet each proudly rowing under its own colours.

A playful, contemporary interpretation of a much-loved Maltese tradition, where sport, craftsmanship and local pride come together on the water.

Ten years later.
This was one of the very first wallet designs we created at Birgu Blue, long before our atelier even opened.
The original was a prototype, made for me almost ten years ago. I have carried it virtually every day since, through countless trips, meetings, cities and all the ordinary moments in between.
After a decade of faithful service, it is still in remarkably good shape. But I decided it was finally time to break the Maltese saying “l-iskarpan biz-zarbun imqatta’” - the shoemaker with the worn-out shoes - and asked Ozzy to craft a new one for me.
So we went back to the original design and made it again: the same practical layout, the same understated form, handcrafted in leather in our Birgu atelier.
Some designs don’t need reinventing. This one is a remake of a true classic!

Malta, Gozo & Comino — reimagined from the sea.
This collection started when I met the talented Diego of
Diego has a wonderful ability to draw marine creatures and takes much of his inspiration from Malta and the Mediterranean. I loved his work and commissioned him to create three original illustrations for Birgu Blue.
The idea was simple: to reinterpret Malta, Gozo and Comino in a playful and unexpected way, turning each island into a creature of the sea.
Those three illustrations have now become our latest Birgu Blue collection of 30 × 30 cm vinyl size prints, available individually or as a complete set.
A very Maltese collaboration, inspired by our islands and by the sea that surrounds them.

This bespoke cardholder was created for an international executive based in Paris. Someone who wanted something practical and professional, but with real character.
Every element was considered around her lifestyle and personality: elegant enough for business, compact enough for everyday use, and distinctive enough to feel entirely her own.
Handmade and hand-stitched in Malta, the cardholder is finished in rich cognac leather, with carefully worked edges, contrasting stitching and personalised initials.
A small object, perhaps, but one designed to say something about the person carrying it.
