Qrendi's Church was originally dedicated to the Nativity Of Our Lady, but after 19 years, in the year 1594, it was instead dedicated to The Assumption Of Our Lady. In 1618 it then became a Parish. Needing a larger Church, the community started building in 1620. This was later demolished so that a larger Church could be built. During construction of this third Church, the Parish Priest had a fatal fall from the top of the Church, which was eventually completed in 1712.
The feast in Gozo on the 15th August is in the Parish of Victoria, the Church situated within the Cittadella. This has been a Parish since 1299, having been a pre-historic settlement. It went through various changes, depending on who was ruling the island at the time. The present Church was started in 1697 and completed in 1711. It then became a Cathedral in 1864 when it became the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese Of Gozo.
The statue of the Parish of Qrendi is available in plaster and it stands 45cm high.

The 2 Ħ's (using the official names).
Ħ'Attard Parish Church is now 400 years old. Though there were some additions over the years and the parvis was repaired after the war, the original Church stands as built. It is considered to be the finest renaissance Church in Malta and is scheduled as a grade 1 national monument.
Ħal Għaxaq is this year celebrating 400 years as a Parish. There has been a Church there since 1511 though the current Church was completed around 1760 after the old one was inadequate. Developments were carried out over the centuries and it is also scheduled as a grade 1 national monument.
The statues of both Parishes are made of plaster. The one of Ħ'Attard id available on demand and the one of Ħal-Għaxaq is in stock.

The 2 M's.
Based on Rome's Pantheon, the Mosta Dome is one of the largest in the world. It was pierced by a bomb during WWII during a service and by a miracle the bomb did not go off. It has been a Parish since 1608. The original Church was built a few years later and starting in 1833, a new Church was built around the old Church, which remained in service till it was demolished in 1860 with the new Church almost complete. In 2018 it became a minor Basilica.
In 1598 the Parish of Mqabba was created and the current Parish Church was built on the site of 2 Chapels, being completed in 1699. It suffered damage during WWII and was repaired by 1947.
We have the statues of both Parishes. In plaster they are 40cm high and the one of Mosta is also available in resin at 20cm, 30cm or 40cm high.

The Assumption Of Our Lady is one of the most important feasts in Malta. It is celebrated in 11 Churches, 8 on the 15th August, which is a holiday of obligation, and 3 on the following weekend.
The Parish Church in B'Kara is known as the Old Church and is located just outside the historic part of B'Kara. It was built in various phases between 1615 and 1679. In 1782 it did not remain a Parish, fell into disuse and started to suffer a lot of structural damage. In 1969 restoration works were started and they are still not fully completed, however it became a Parish once again in 2005.
St Mary's Parish Church in Gudja is a very old Parish. The current Church is the second one dedicated to St Mary and it was finished in 1666, though further construction in 1858 added a 3rd bell tower, the only Church in Malta with 3 bell towers.
We have available the titular statue of many of these 11 Parishes, all made of plaster.
The statue of Gudja, made of plaster, is 50cm high. We do not have the one of B'Kara.

We usually have a number of things which are available for free.
At the moment we have these models of which there are 20 different available (4 packets with 5 models per packet). They are ideal for children of 5 years and older and should keep them occupied for a little time during their school holidays.
The models are about 7cm long, made out of some sort of foam board.
Stocks are limited, so we will only give 1 packet per child who visits the shop so that more children can get to enjoy them. Ask for them at the counter.

The 10th of August can only mean 1 thing unless it is a Sunday, the feast of St Laurence in Vittoriosa.
The Church has been standing for about 600 years or so and it was the first Church used by the Order of St John. The current Church was completed in 1696, though it sustained damage during WW II, with the last of the repairs completed in 1950.
There are 4 different plaster statues available and 3 resin statues. The reason ones are identical and are 20cm, 30cm and 40cm high. The plaster ones are 2 different ones at about 40cm high. There is a statue which is well over 50cm because it comes on a pedestal. Finally there is the one of St Laurence with the sick and needy.

This weekend there are 3 feasts in all (with another one on Monday).
In Ħamrun it is the feast of St Cajetan. The Parish Church is 150 years old, though there were further additions and it was fully completed in the 1950's.
Buġibba are celebrating the feast of St Maximilian Kolbe. It is one of the more modern Parishes since the Church has only just celebrated 30 years.
In Gozo it is the village of St Lawrence which is celebrating the feast to St Lawrence, one of the few places where the place and feast have the same name. It became a Parish in 1893, with the Church having been completed 4 years before it became a Parish.
Of these 3 feasts, we only have the titular statue of St Cajetan available, however it is one of the statues of which we have the most variations. The are 4 different plaster statues, varying in hight from 35 - 50cm. We also have 3 resin statues at 10cm, 20cm and 30cm high. There are also other statues of St Cajetan, though they are not the titular statue.

On the 6th August, the proper day in summer each year, we have the feast of Christ Our Saviour. Ħal-Lija, with it's narrow and winding streets, is one of the oldest villages in Malta. It is therefore not a surprise that the Parish is also quite old. It was made a Parish in 1594, the Church was started 100 years later, finished for use in 1702 and completely finished in 1782.
We have the statue, make of plaster. It is one of the bigger statues, since it is more than 60cm high.
