If you look at this picture, you might only see a man standing in Frankfurt with the Mauritian flag. 🇲🇺
But I see something completely different.
I see a young boy from school days who had nothing but dreams in his heart.
I see the boy who started with only Rs 100.
Rs 100 may seem insignificant to many people, but that was where my journey began. I didn’t have a big investment, powerful connections or someone to guarantee my success.
I only had faith, determination and a dream.
From those school days until today, life has taken me through roads I never imagined.
I’ve known what it feels like to succeed.
I’ve known what it feels like to lose.
I’ve worked when I was tired.
I’ve smiled when things were falling apart inside.
I’ve trusted people and been disappointed.
I’ve made mistakes.
I’ve started again.
And again.
And again.
There were moments when I wondered, “Is all of this really worth it?”
But every time life pushed me down, something inside me said:
“Get up. You’re not finished yet.”
And today, standing here at Messe Frankfurt, far from the place where everything started, holding the flag of Mauritius in my hands, I feel emotional.
Because I know what this journey cost me.
The sleepless nights.
The sacrifices.
The risks.
The failures nobody saw.
The tears nobody knew about.
The days when I had to keep moving even when I had no strength left.
People often see the result.
Very few people see the journey.
And to every young person reading this, please remember something:
You don’t need to have everything figured out today.
Start small.
I started with Rs 100.
Pray to God. 🤲
Work harder than yesterday.
Stay honest when nobody is watching.
Keep your word.
Respect those who helped you along the way.
And please, take care of your parents.
Give them your time. Call them. Sit with them. Make them proud.
Money can be earned again.
Time with your parents cannot.
And never, ever choose a shortcut just because the honest road is taking too long.
Don’t cheat your way to success.
Don’t lie your way to the top.
Don’t destroy someone else’s life to build yours.
A success built without honesty will never give you peace.
It may take years.
It may hurt.
You may fail more times than you succeed.
But keep going.
One day, you may stand somewhere you once only dreamed of standing, look back at where you came from, and realize:
Every struggle had a purpose.
Today, I am still the same guy who started with Rs 100.
The difference is that life has taught me that the greatest wealth isn’t what you have in your bank account.
It’s the person you become while chasing your dreams.
From school days…
From Rs 100…
Through every high and every low…
To Frankfurt, holding the flag of my beautiful Mauritius. 🇲🇺❤️
The journey isn’t over.
And if you’re at the beginning of yours, please don’t give up.
Your first chapter doesn’t have to look like your final one.
Pray. Believe. Work. Stay honest. Respect your parents. Keep your heart clean.
And keep walking.
One day, you’ll understand why you had to go through it all. 🇲🇺❤️
