iPHONE BATTERY HEALTH — INFORMATION

A faster decrease in Battery Health has recently been noticed in general among some iPhone users.

For example, an iPhone may display 100% Battery Health and later decrease to 98% within a relatively short period. This does not necessarily mean that the battery has suddenly deteriorated by 2% or that it is defective.

Battery Health is an estimate calculated by iOS based on several battery measurements. The percentage does not always decrease gradually from 100% → 99% → 98%. It can remain unchanged for some time before the system adjusts its estimate.

Changes may sometimes become more noticeable following an iOS update. Actual battery ageing can also be influenced by factors such as heat, charging habits, intensive usage and charge cycles.

For newer iPhone models, the cycle count should also be considered alongside the Battery Health percentage when assessing the condition of a battery.

A small or sudden change in the displayed Battery Health percentage is therefore not, by itself, an indication of a defective battery.
