I get what Japanese invented Kintsugi : the art of rebirth, really, the art of taking what is broken to “ repair” it apparently but I think it’s more than that. It is giving it a new life, where scars are celebrated and beautified.

A few days ago I wrote :
“Let us break and shatter
All that we could make better.
May we know when to say goodbye
To the old versions of us that need to die.“

I had forgotten that we don’t need to break and shatter anything, the world will do it for us, and our work ?
Our work is the creation of new life from the ashes of what once was.

Anyway, this mug was a sample for an upcoming mug collection with sentences from my poems. And broken or not … I love it !

Under construction 👷‍♀️!!

The shop is officially closed for the month of September, and yes, I had to write a short poem just for that !
More beauty, more poetry perfectly blended in our seemingly chaotic ordinary lives coming soon 💫

The life of a shop owner and entrepreneur is full of doubts, challenges and moments when you just say “ f*ck it” and do exactly what your guts tell you ! With my wonderful team, we will make it work anyway !

I took a very similar picture 8 years ago when I opened the shop, I’m as tired as I was then and as excited as I was then ! Changes are coming !

A $2 bill meant to bring you luck, an old photo booth strip, a movie ticket from a first date of a birthday postcard from when you turned 20…
Little things you and I keep, for no other reason than we’re not quite ready to let them go.

That’s where this pouch began.

I embroidered it with fragments of a garden in bloom and paired it with a poem I wrote about noticing the beauty of ordinary life.
I wanted it to become a little home for its tangible poetry: the notes, photographs and mementos that somehow become precious along the way.

Because perhaps an extraordinary life is simply an ordinary one we paid attention to.

A $2 bill meant to bring you luck, an old Photo Booth strip, a movie ticket from a first date of a birthday postcard from when you turned 20…
Little things you and I keep, for no other reason than we’re not quite ready to let them go.

That’s where this pouch began.
