There’s something different about discovering a book in person.

Walking through shelves, pulling out unfamiliar authors, opening a novel at random, and unexpectedly finding the one you want to take home.

Offline (Books) was created for that kind of experience.

A carefully curated selection of contemporary fiction, translated literature, classics, and award winning books, alongside thoughtfully prepared coffee and spaces designed for staying a little longer.

Come visit us, browse slowly, and spend some time offline.

"To love another person is... the supreme work for which all other work is merely preparation."

This collection gathers Rilke’s most candid and lyrical meditations on love — an experience he believed to be central to human existence, yet one for which we are almost never prepared. Drawn from both his poems and extensive correspondence, these selections trace the arc of love in all its forms: falling into it, living within it, losing it, and discovering the mysterious ways it endures.

Last year marked the 40th anniversary of The Handmaid’s Tale and it still feels relevant today.

Every form of oppression in the novel was inspired by real historical events. Margaret Atwood wrote it in 1984 while living in West Berlin, surrounded by walls, surveillance and Cold War tension.

You can find these three editions (the graphic novel and special edition) at our store.
