Meet Thomas Powell (T H O M A S P O W E L L), a visual artist whose work holds a mirror up to the strange moment we find ourselves living through.
Working across painting, printmaking, sculpture, found materials, and digital imagery, Powell draws from history, science, philosophy, literature, and the everyday experiences of people trying to make sense of the bigger picture.
His practice explores how we arrived here, what we are doing to the world around us, and what it means to be human within systems that increasingly feel beyond our control. For Powell, making is also a way of thinking. Research, intuition, and experimentation come together through the process, allowing ideas to evolve rather than starting with a fixed answer.
His work asks us to pause, look a little closer, and question the stories we are told, the patterns we repeat, and perhaps even the difference between charismatic lies and boring truths.
