Gobok BUKU is an alternative books / zines distributor and publisher owned by Garam and his wife, Bunga established on November 2011. Gobok BUKU could be said as a pioneer art activist in independent books writing industry in Johor Bahru, Johor. Gobok BUKU Always involve in art basis event within Johor Bahru, Johor, by opening booth for selling books and zines. Below are some events that we usuall
y involve :
- Art events organized by AGAS (Street Art, Panggong Punggok, GEGASI : Malam Puisi dan Akustik, etc.)
- Convocation Festival / Program organized by college / university within Johor (e.g : UTM, UniKL, IPG, etc.)
- Book fair / book launching / Buku Jalanan within Johor Bahru.
- JB Art Festival / JB Writers & Readers Festival
- Art events organized by community members in Johor Bahru. (Langgo Art, Johor Sketchers, Arty-Party, etc.) and others (upon invitation). Gobok BUKU have had an opportunity to organized a few books launching collaboration with AGAS, and have already published 2 books namely Penggembaraan Tanah Kusir and Buku Nota Filem. Other events that took place with our collaboration are poetry reading, poems, acoustic session and many more. Until recently (2014), Gobok BUKU are now distributing and publishing books and zines from many publishers mainly move independently such as;
