Two branches were established in Bukit Tinggi 2, Klang and Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. The principal Mr. Lim Hock Siong (RCGSMD, LGMSD, Dip Music, MIA) established the music school with the original intention of promoting classical guitars in Malaysia. With an integrated teaching system and attentive training, many excellent classical guitar teachers have been trained. After classical guitar education has matured and stabilized, the school has gradually included other music courses. In addition to classical guitar, the school also offers various music classes including piano, violin, vocal, folk guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, guzheng, keyboard, clarinet, music theory, Jazz piano, chamber music, guitar orchestra and choir.
In addition to the students' interest in learning musical instruments as a hobby, students also continue to study music aboard. The school provides an internal Professional Classical Guitar Examination system, as well as external examinations such as the Royal Academy of Music, Trinity Conservatory of Music and the London School of Music. The School also assists students in preparing for their overseas audition exams, in the university of Taiwan, the United States, France, Thailand, Germany, Hong Kong and other places. The school cultivated many music talents for our country. The headquarters of TARREGA Guitar House has a small concert hall equipped with a 6 feet grand piano for about 250 people, a lecture hall, a library, air-conditioned classrooms of various sizes, a coffee shop and other facilities, students have more opportunities for stage learning and exchange, the school also regularly invites local and foreign musicians to perform, give lectures, and teach master classes. Students often perform together and learn how to work with different instruments, which makes learning music richer and more diverse. TARREGA Guitar House also hosts many Guitar Camps, Choral Camps, Guitar Competitions, teams going abroad for the International Music Competitions, Music Camps and other events. TARREGA International Guitar Festival is the most influential one organised by us, it brings together the locals and international participants and artists, which gives the nationals an opportunity to learn from overseas teachers without leaving the country, the contestants also have more opportunities to communicate and make friends with other players from all over the worlds, it takes a big step forward in their music studies. In addition to music lessons, the school also dealing with wholesale and retail of musical instruments, instrument service and repair, providing many activities and facilities for music lovers. Dealers and distributor of the well-known brands in the market, rental of performance venues, sound system and etc.
泰雷嘉吉他学院成立于1995年，座落于马来西亚雪兰莪州巴生市中心，两家分院分别设立于巴生Bukit Tinggi 2及森美兰州的Nilai。院长林福祥老师(RCGSMD, LGSMD, Dip Music, MIA)成立学院初衷为要极力在我国推广古典吉他，在一套完整的教学系统及努力的精心栽培下，培育了我国不少优秀古典吉他导师。
古典吉他教育逐渐成熟、稳定后，学院渐渐也纳入其他音乐课程，目前除了古典吉他，学院也设钢琴、小提琴、声乐、民谣吉他、电子吉他、贝斯吉他、乌克丽丽、古筝、电子琴、爵士吉他、单簧管、音乐理论、爵士钢琴理论及弹奏、吉他室内小组合奏（Chamber Music)、大型吉他乐团(Guitar Orchestra)、合唱团等多样课程。
学生学习乐器除了兴趣之外，也有好多同学继续深入往音乐发展。学院提供院内专业古典吉他考试制度，也有英国皇家音乐学院、Trinity College of Music、London College of Music、中国中央音乐学院等海外专业文凭鉴定考试。除此之外，学院也协助学生备考海外入学考试，留学生有台湾、美国、法国、泰国、德国、香港等地，为我国音乐培育不少音乐人才。
泰雷嘉吉他学院总院拥有容纳约250人备有6尺三脚钢琴的小型音乐厅、讲座室、图书馆、大小不同的冷气课室、咖啡厅等设备，让学生有更多的舞台学习机会和交流空间，学院也经常邀请海内外音乐家到来演出、讲座、教授大师班等。多元化的乐器，同学们之间也时常联合演出，学习不同乐器的配合，让学习音乐更丰富及具多样化。泰雷嘉吉他学院也多次主办吉他生活营、合唱训练营、吉他观摩赛、国内音乐比赛、组队出国参加海外国际赛、音乐营等等活动，其中最具影响力的是在2014年-2017年主辦了泰雷嘉国际吉他艺术节 (TARREGA International Guitar Festival)，聚集国内外参赛选手及表演嘉宾，让国人不用出国也有机会向海外老师学习，参赛选手们也更多机会与来世界各地的琴友交流，在学习上往前跨进一大步。
学院除了办音乐课程也销售相关乐器和提供乐器护理和维修，为音乐爱好者提供很多便利。代理和分销大部分市场知名品牌，租借演出场地、音响等等。。
