When comparing only prices, you would think about the affordability first, right? That's why Prize Figures are generally considered affordable and easy to get into, and a lot of them are considered household items nowadays... (your parents or family members would hardly bat an eye to them)
However, when considering intricate detail of paint jobs, pose dynamics, and overall aesthetics, your eyes will shift to the high- priced figures due to its highly artistic nature. In fact, the price tag is actually meant to gatekeep the entry in order to control the number of prints and preserve the rarity and exclusivity.
Like art piece markets, if your budget is XX, you can buy only mass produced artwork sold in a public marketplace. But if you spend hundreds, thousands, or maybe millions, you'll get access to higher end, limited and exclusive artworks - even those that are personally tailored to your unique taste.
But the most value comes from getting inside the community who owns and collect them. You'll get access to knowledge, insights, respect, and kinship from that level of the community. It's a rule not set in stone, but it's a rule that has existed since ancient times.
