Thank you to everyone who joined us for Chakap-Chakap Beyond Business, and a special thank you to The Bendahari for the invitation and for creating this platform for people to come together, share what we do, learn from one another, and learn with one another.

This was actually our first sharing as Tingkat Lima, so it meant a lot to us to be able to share a little about our journey 🤎 The things we tried, the things we learned, the things that didn’t always go as planned, and how Tingkat Lima slowly became what it is today.

We truly hope our little sharing was able to give you something, perhaps a new perspective, a little inspiration, or simply the reminder that it’s okay not to have everything figured out when you begin ✨

One of the sweetest parts was finally meeting some of you who have been following us quietly for almost two years 🥹 Sometimes, a connection begins long before the actual encounter. And perhaps that’s what Chakap-Chakap is all about — creating a space for these encounters to happen.

Thank you for listening to our story, and for sharing a little of yours with us.

Here’s to more conversations, more encounters, more learning, and hopefully more and more Chakap-Chakap sessions in the future.

CURATING EXPERIENCES, THEN ENCOUNTERS ✨

What does “experience” mean to you?

For us at Tingkat Lima, it has never been just about creating a space or organising something for people to experience. It’s about the little moments, the people we meet, the conversations we have, and the unexpected encounters that happen along the way.

We’re truly grateful to be invited by The Bendahari to be part of 【Chakap-Chakap】 a peer-to-peer sharing session where we get to learn from one another, share what we’ve been through, and grow together.

This time, we’ll be sharing a little about Tingkat Lima’s journey — how we started, the challenges we faced, the things we got wrong, the lessons we picked up, and how we’re still growing, little by little.

And we’re especially thankful for everyone who has been there and witnessed our journey since Day 1.

But this isn’t a talk where you simply sit and listen.

When Sweet Meets Savoury | what a beautiful afternoon 🍅

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and made this experience so special.

For this edition, we took tomato, one of the key ingredients in the first course as our theme colour. We hope you enjoyed the beautiful desserts by hohougelato and the drinks thoughtfully paired by 1Q52 x The Bendahari .

在這場藝術家分享中，聿綺將分享她以食物為核心的藝術實踐，並進一步思考：食物藝術究竟能夠是什麼。

活動中也將進行一場集體品嘗與書寫體驗，參與者將透過自己的味覺、記憶與故事，一同帶領她走進馬六甲的飲食路徑與風土文化。

羅聿綺是一位來自台灣的藝術家，其創作以食物作為媒介，也作為方法。她發展出一種扎根於生活經驗的獨特「食物語言」，將進食視為人與世界相遇的現場，並借此觀察人與地方、記憶及歷史之間的關係。

透過持續的旅行、田野調查，以及圍繞飲食文化展開的交流，她追尋地景、遷徙與殖民歷史如何悄然嵌入日常生活之中。她的作品關注文化知識如何透過烹調、聚集與共享食物被傳遞，並將食物視為一種觀看世界的方式，探索人們如何在其中理解身份認同、歸屬感，以及與世界之間的關係。

What’s Her(b) Language？
氣味、記憶，與娘惹飲食之道

透過品嘗與集體書寫，邀請參與者一起探索娘惹食材與食物記憶，共同編織屬於馬六甲的飲食知識檔案。

從平面設計，到經營家族餐飲事業，Fai 與 Esther 一直以創意、食物，以及對文化的熱愛作為前行方向。身為熱愛飲食的人，他們無論走到哪裡，總會被當地市場吸引—因為對他們而言，市場像是一座活著的「博物館」，透過食物，讓日常、歷史與傳統持續發生。

一次沿著馬來西亞東海岸展開的公路旅行，讓他們認識了 Khao Jam。他們被新鮮香草與野菜交織出的豐富風味深深吸引。這段旅程也開啓了他們製作 Nasi Ulam 的興趣，並進一步瞭解這道樸實料理背後的食材、傳統與故事。對他們而言，Nasi Ulam 不僅僅是一道食物。它承載著人與自然、人與文化之間深層的連結—每一種香草都訴說著一個故事，每一碗飯里，都盛載著地方與記憶的氣息。

有人認真做甜品，荒糖卻認真把甜品做得很荒唐。

將帶著一份名為《The Last Supper》，平时在店里吃不到的限定菜單：五餅二蝦、寬恕之乳、誘惑冷面……來到五樓七號。

這些名字聽起來有點熟悉，
又好像哪裡不太對勁？

我們沒有打算劇透太多，
畢竟有些事情，
還是親自來到現場才有意思🫢

Long tables sparked conversation, round tables shared laughter, little sketches turned into meals, and tiny gifts carried up the stairs with love.

Grateful for every moment, every smile, and the trust that filled this little corner with warmth.
