120 Film Backing Paper: Washi Tape
Inspired by the backing paper found inside 120 film rolls, this trio of washi tapes transforms frame numbers, arrows, grids, dots, and exposure markings into playful paper details for everyday journaling.
Drawing from the visual language of analog photography, the repeating patterns echo the sequencing and movement found throughout medium-format film.
Designed for layering, decorating, collage, and everyday paper projects, each tape can be used as a subtle background element or become part of the story on the page itself.

About this collection
After introducing our 35mm film series in 2019, we began exploring ideas inspired by 120 film and medium-format photography. Many of the early drafts remained unfinished for years before finally taking shape in 2024 and 2025.
The som studio 120 film series grew into a collection of rubber stamps, PET tapes, washi tapes, and memo pads inspired by the visual language of 120 film.
This post is part of an archival sharing of the collection.
