My name is Edward Hiew and I am the proprieter and chief luthier at The Luthier's Workshop. We were established in 2004 and possess more than 10 years in providing discerning enthusiasts and professional musicians alike with handbuilt, custom designed guitars. ure Model is the Northern Lights model, a Grand Auditorium sized acoustic guitar which pays homage to one of the finest visual displays ever encountered in the natural world. I first learnt the art of luthiery under the tutelage of esteemed Malaysian guitar builder Jeffery Yong in 2001. In 2003, I also received further instruction from David Freeman, master luthier at Timeless Instruments in Saskatchewan, Canada. It brings myself immense satisfaction to spread joy and pride among the people through their ownership of custom built dream guitars. In addition, we also conduct guitar building courses to cultivate awareness and interest in the skill, technicalities and fundamentals involved in guitar construction and manufacture. At the end of the course, students will graduate with either a steel-string acoustic or nylon-string classical guitar of their own design and construction. guitar finishing methods, fretting/refretting and how to setup a guitar.
