TDS tells you how much dissolved material is in the water — not exactly what it is.

Higher TDS doesn’t automatically mean dirty water. It can simply mean more naturally occurring minerals. At the same time, low TDS does not guarantee that water is safe.

Water pressure plays a big role in how your filter and dispenser perform.

For LIFEZEN systems, 3–6 bar is the recommended range for stable flow and reliable operation. Around 1 bar may be too low, especially for Premium Health, while LIFEZEN filters and machines can safely handle pressure up to 9 bar.

The goal isn’t maximum pressure — it’s the right pressure.

Micron rating tells you the approximate filtration scale — but the smaller the number, the better is not always true.

Microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and RO all work at different separation ranges and are designed for different water-quality needs.

So don’t judge a filter by micron size alone. Look at the filtration technology, membrane design and what it is actually tested to reduce.

Free chlorine is generally easier for activated carbon to reduce, while chloramine is more stable and may require more suitable media, longer contact time, or catalytic carbon.

So when a filter says it “reduces chlorine,” it’s worth asking: which type?

A small chlorine residual can continue protecting the water as it travels through storage systems and pipes.

Not all water filters remove the same things. Different filter media have different jobs — sediment filters trap particles, activated carbon helps reduce chlorine, taste, odour and certain chemicals, while UF, Nano and RO membranes work at different filtration levels.

So don’t just count the number of filter stages. Look at what each stage actually does.
